Today we have achieved a major milestone as Space Norway formally has taken ownership of the ASBM satellites from Northrop Grumman. Since the Falcon 9 launch in California 12 August the satellites have gone through a successful orbit raising and a successful In Orbit Testing where all payloads and the Geostar-3 platform have performed perfectly! Last Monday we transferred the command of the satellites from the Northrop Grumman Mission Operation Center to our ASBM Satellite Operations Center in North Norway, and we are preparing for control handover of the payloads to Viasat, the Norwegian Armed Forces and to the US Space Force. The NORM radiation monitor is already providing valuable and important radiation data which will be used by the EU in preparation for future space programs. Soon satellite broadband communication is available to users in the Arctic - which is WHY we and our partners have spent many years developing this very special Arctic capability! Thanks to Northrop Grumman for constructing and building two very capable satellites! Our joint slogan; One Mission - One Team, stands tall!
