Versiro just had a team meetup in Bratislava and even went inside an actual Kaplan turbine in a generator! ⚡ We work every day on helping the power systems transition to a green future. It’s quick to forget the huge technical marvels that make up the power system. So we decided to go in the field and look for ourselves. It was nothing short of amazing! Beyond the power plant visit we got to talk strategy, experience excellent Slovak cuisine, go climbing, and generally just have a great time together. We can promise that lots of cool things are in the works for the coming year 🙌 The people make the team, and we are so grateful and super excited for the future!

First time ever that Versiro co-hosts an event: Renewable Tech Night next week 🙌 Startups, industry and investors will meet and talk about the challenges and areas of cooperation to innovate for the energy transition ⚡️ Recent years have emphasized how important security is in the energy sector. This will be a core theme for the evening, together with a reiteration on flexibility and a showcase of startups. Last week we announced our 2.3M EUR seed round and are overwhelmed and grateful by the response and kind words 🤩 As researchers, founders Markus Löschenbrand and Simon Risanger noticed that the increased uncertainty, complexity, and speed in power systems caused by the energy transition required new tools for analytics. We took a leap into the unknown and decided to be the ones who could make state-of-the-art research quickly accessible and user-friendly for everyone who faces these challenges. A defining trait of Versiro is to combine scientific rigor with startup speed. In a bit over two years, several of the largest power producers in Norway use our software daily and we are preparing to expand international. This brings Versiro to a new chapter where we are incredibly pleased to get Jørgen Kildahl as our new chairman and have Arne Tonning and Alliance VC lead our seed, with participation from Sondo Capital, former E.ON CEO Johannes Teyssen, Fortress Fund, Hans Geelmuyden, Draum founder Dag-Inge Aas, Superside founder Fredrik Thomassen, and Enode founders Henrik Langeland and Nikolai Heum, among others. Building something from nothing is challenging and requires focus and dedicated work. 👏Versiro is starting 2024 by welcoming a new member to the team!👏 As an experienced Machine Learning Scientist with German and Finnish background currently based in Uppsala, Sweden, Taro has set course on greatly enriching our technology and our great team behind it.   Taro will be shifting his previous focus of medical image analysis where he built a strong CV both in academia to a new type of patient: renewable energy and the power system as a whole. All whilst staying true to his passion of building fast-paced, highly performant AI systems. 🤖   Outside of this technical focus, his interests range from heavy lifting🏋♂️ to salsa dancing🕺 and enjoying Swedish nature🌲.
