  • V.Group Marine HR COO Allan Falkenberg spoke to Lloyd's List about the global launch of Voyage Loyalty, an industry-first crew reward scheme aimed at boosting crew retention.    Seafarers earn points called SeaStars for time served and for completing tasks such as training. These can be redeemed for consumer goods, gift cards and offers on an app.   The program initially piloted in 2023 for Filipino officers and chief cooks, resulting in increased operational efficiency and 5% better crew retention.   Read the article in full: https://lnkd.in/eaXbcNzT

  • This week V.Ships Greece, led by MD Dimitris Patrikios, hosted the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS Greek Branch) for a seminar in marine casualties, analysing a real case with great interest from the participants which included many V. employees. The seminar was followed by a traditional pita cutting ceremony.   The cutting, which has its roots in Greek culture, involves the slicing of a specially prepared 'Vasilopita' cake, with a lucky coin hidden inside prior to baking. The cutting signals a happy and prosperous year ahead and is observed by many institutions throughout Greece and worldwide early in the year. Thank you to ICS Greek Branch for joining us at our Piraeus office and here's to a collaborative year ahead for the maritime industry!
