Today the European Commission announced that they have come to an agreement with Apple on opening the contactless payment technology on iPhone for other mobile wallets. For Vipps MobilePay the agreement is a significant win after a years-long battle for free competition in the mobile payment space 👏 📱

Starting today, the Nordic countries move a little bit closer when 11.6 million Vipps and MobilePay users in Denmark, Finland and Norway can send money as easy as they are used to across our Scandinavian borders.   With our recent merger of Vipps MobilePay this task became a top priority on the to-do-list  🦹🏼♀️ That's why we are very, very happy to tell this very news today 💙🧡 The plan is for Sweden to join later this year, when Vipps is introduced to the Swedish market. So, how does it work exactly? Just as you know it. Enter your Norwegian, Danish or Finnish friend's number (remember the country code first) and swipe ✨Very, very easy. Very, very big news for Vipps MobilePay 🚀 Around midnight we migrated 4,5 million Danish users to the new MobilePay app. This means we are now on the same app and platform in Denmark, Finland and Norway 🇩🇰 🇫🇮🇳🇴    We are now very much looking forward to launching new solutions. The first one being very easy cross-border payments within the Nordic region. If all goes as planned, you will be able to use Vipps MobilePay across Norway, Denmark, and Finland before the summer. We've just wrapped up a special Vipps MobilePay (for a Good Cause!). ✨ Colleagues had a unique opportunity to purchase our office equipment, which had served us very, very well but were ready for a new home💻📱. Our team not only found great deals on quality items, but all fundraised proceeds are now spreading joy and laughter as a donation to RAUDONOS NOSYS Gydytojai klounai! 🤡🏥 What's even more incredible is that we raised even 8000 EUR to support the incredible work they do, bringing smiles to the faces of kids in hospitals. 🌈 It’s magical power of teamwork and the impact we can make when we come together for a good cause. 🌟 Thank you all for being part of this fantastic initiative!
