🔧 Advancing 3D Printing with 3D AM 80 HD Steel 🔧 During our research on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) in 2021 conducted with [School of Materials Science & Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology], [Beijing Institute of Technology Chongqing Innovation Center], we explored the potential of a specially designed 3D AM 80 HD steel wire. This low-carbon, high-strength steel could be a game-changer for producing large, robust parts, especially in marine applications. In our study, we experimented with different deposition settings to find the optimal conditions for printing a multi-bead wall. We also used software to analyze the microstructure and predict the material’s performance. To see how our results measure up, we compared the tensile strength of our WAAMed wall with other steel wires, including a product from Voestalpine Böhler Welding Corporation.
