𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐔’𝐬 “𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩-𝐭𝐡𝐞-𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤” 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮 The European Commission’s Omnibus proposal aims to reduce complexity in sustainability regulations, but does simplification risk slowing progress? 🔹 Fewer reporting requirements – Many companies will no longer need to disclose ESG data. 🔹 Due diligence delay – Businesses get more time to adapt to new requirements. 🔹 Regulatory “pause” approved – Key sustainability rules postponed until 2028. For businesses, this brings short-term relief. But transparency and accountability remain essential. The market still demands credible sustainability data, and those who stay ahead of the curve will build trust, resilience, and long-term value. Regulations may shift, but sustainability leadership is not just a tick-box. It's about going beyond compliance for long-term business resilience and lasting impact. 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝟯 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘆 The challenge with Scope 3 isn’t just about size — it’s about complexity. These emissions stretch across vast global supply chains, where data is often incomplete, inconsistent, or simply unavailable. Unlike Scope 1 and 2, where companies have direct control, Scope 3 requires gathering information from external partners, many of whom may not even track their own emissions, says Vishal Gangwar, Senior Sustainability Assessor SEA, DNV, in this exclusive article in Carbon Wire. #carbonemissions #carbonaccounting #climatechange #carbonwire https://lnkd.in/ggitkwJE
