A Day of Hope and Action! Our future leaders united for a cleaner planet! Students poured their hearts into cleanup campaigns, transforming their communities and their minds. With every piece of litter collected, they learned the power of responsibility and the impact of small actions. Together, they’re not just cleaning up; they’re cultivating a deeper love for the environment and a commitment to sustainability. Let’s cherish their passion and support their journey toward a brighter, greener future! Project CAP is funded by the PLEASE (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia), implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, supported by World Bank and with implementing support from UNOPS. #CREASION #TowardsSustainability #BetterWorld #environment #Nepal #ProjectCAP #CleanNepal #SustainableFuture #EnvironmentalEducation #GreenWarriors #saynotoplasticbags

As we embrace the joy of Dashain, let’s pause to consider: Are we not also impacting the health of our planet? Each festival, while unique in its traditions, shares a common thread of bringing happiness and hope. This Dashain, let’s celebrate sustainably by discarding single-use plastics, carrying our own bags, choosing recycled products, and segregating waste. Together, we can ensure our celebrations also nurture the earth! Project CAP is funded by the PLEASE (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia), implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, supported by The World Bank and with implementing support from UNOPS. #CREASION #TowardsSustainability #BetterWorld #environment #Nepal #ProjectCAP #CleanNepal #SustainableFuture #EnvironmentalEducation #GreenWarriors #saynotoplasticbags

There is already a lot of plastic, and it is not going anywhere! As we prepare for Dashain shopping, remember: 4.8 million plastic bags are used in Kathmandu every day! One plastic bag takes 500 years to biodegrade, contaminating our water, soil, and air while worsening the climate crisis. Plastic waste harms aquatic species and can even be found in human blood. This Dashain, let’s choose to use reusable bags and reduce plastic pollution for a healthier planet!

"For the first time in history, the majority of the population in Nepal is young, and globally, youth represent 16%. Imagine what could happen if they were to lead!" Exactly what's happening is inspiring change! Our trained VFC Youth Cohorts led 12 river cleanup initiatives in seven different regions of Nepal and removed an impressive 3,211 KG of waste from our rivers under #ProjectCAP #GreenCircuitMarathon. These passionate individuals are leading initiatives that promote collective effort, cultivating community involvement, raising awareness, and not just addressing the issue of plastic pollution. For Pamfa Ramtel, turning waste into opportunity is a daily reality. On August 22, 2024, she took part in a transformative Capacity Building Training organized by Project CAP. This workshop sparked her interest and gave her the skills to make positive changes in her community. Every morning, Pamfa rises with determination to collect PET bottles, which have also become one of her family's sources of income. Selling them for just 15-20 rupees per kilogram, her hard work underscores the challenges faced by many in turning waste into valuable resources. Although the payment is insignificant, Pamfa's journey highlights a significant challenge and demonstrates the importance of seeing worth in what others consider waste. In response, Project CAP is developing the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Golanjor. With their support, this facility could mitigate some of the difficulties she encounters. Pamfa will be able to save time, expand her collections, raise her family's income, and support environmental projects in her neighborhood by having this facility close by. Project CAP is funded by the PLEASE (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas for South Asia) Project, implemented by the South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme, supported by The World Bank and with implementing support from UNOPS. #CREASION #TowardsSustainability #BetterWorld #environment #Nepal #ProjectCAP #CleanNepal #SustainableFuture #EnvironmentalEducation #capacitybuildingtraining #informalwasteworkers #wastewarriors #greenwarriors
