What a beautiful day to be on the road! Last Friday Greg Fordham rode his postie bike through Geelong, Queenscliff and Portsea as part of the 2024 Male Bag Ride. These annual rides, organised by the Male Bag Foundation, help raise funds for special events, prostate equipment, and services to support the detection, treatment and recovery of prostate cancer 👏

Some lovely (and very true) words about our North American sustainability lead Hana S. Galal, following the ACI-NA annual conference!
One of the most wonderful things aviation has given me is the opportunity to meet friends and collegues from all around the world. An exciting development for our industry this morning! ✈ Melbourne Airport is about to embark on a transformational infrastructure project as its third runway gets the green light. The Australian Airports Association welcomes Minister Catherine King’s approval of the $3 billion plan, which will cater for growing demand in the decades ahead. A parallel runway system at MEL will help ensure Australia’s air travel network operates as efficiently and smoothly as possible. Along with lowering average delays, it will enable an extra 23 million passengers and 43% more aircraft movements at the airport every year. As Melbourne’s population continues to surge, this third runway will add much-needed competition and the nation’s aviation industry will benefit as a whole. Congratulations to all who have worked so hard on this proposal, delivering the best possible outcomes for residents and the sector. #melbourneairport #aviation #infrastructure Lorie Argus Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts

Melbourne Airport's third runway has been approved! We are especially excited for this news because the Airbiz team, together with Beca and Arup, were involved in delivering the runway design. The new runway will considerably enhance capacity, build air access for Victorians for the long term, and strengthen the state's gateway to the world!
Melbourne Airport has received Federal Government approval for our third runway, enhancing aviation capacity for Victoria and creating thousands of jobs. The 3,000-metre runway, set to open in 2031, will allow simultaneous take-offs and landings, reducing delays and supporting airline growth. CEO Lorie Argus emphasised the runway's importance for future air access and economic growth, forecasting it will secure 51,000 jobs and add $6 billion annually to the state economy.
