About us
Akahu provides open finance infrastructure for New Zealand. Our open finance API is used by a broad range of Government, corporate, and fintech organisations. Our purpose is to give Kiwis control of their financial data. We do that by providing the best account connectivity in NZ. We maintain deeply functional data integrations with New Zealand financial institutions, and bundle those integrations into a simple API for developers. Our API delivers payment initiation, enriched transaction data, account data, identify verification, and bank account verification.

With NZ banks not setting any speed records with their plans for a payee verification service, Netsafe New Zealand is teaming with Akahu and Dolla - who have the wherewithal to match names with account numbers (with a couple of limitations in our un-open banking environment; see article). Dolla can also filter text scams. Netsafe is also partnering with CYBERA, a specialist in fraud recovery support and intelligence sharing, including local and international banks and crypto exchanges https://lnkd.in/gSuS-pgt
