CDS NZ Ltd Annual Beach Clean-Up: Making a Difference Together It was once again time for the CDS NZ Ltd Annual Beach Clean-Up Day! Every year, our team comes together to clean up rubbish at some of our local reserves and beach surroundings. This initiative is our way of giving back to the community and preserving the stunning environment that we are fortunate to live and work in. This year’s event was a great success, with an incredible turnout from our staff. Armed with gloves, rubbish bags, and a shared commitment to sustainability, we spent the morning collecting litter, removing debris, and ensuring that these beautiful spaces remain pristine for everyone to enjoy. Not only did the event help improve our local environment, but it also served as a fantastic team-building opportunity. Walking along the shoreline, chatting with colleagues, and working towards a common goal made for a rewarding and enjoyable experience. The day ended with a well-deserved gathering back at our yard, where we reflected on our efforts and celebrated the impact we made together. At CDS NZ Ltd, we believe in taking action to protect the environment and contribute to the well-being of our local community. Small efforts, when combined, create a significant impact, and we’re proud to play our part. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event a success—we look forward to doing it all again next year! #Sustainability #Community #BeachCleanUp #CDSNZLtd

On Wednesday 4th September, the CDS HDD team pulled our third and final pipe across and under the Taihiki River. These 760m HDD crossings started in July 2023 when CDS first visited site with Watercare. CDS has since worked with Watercare and Stantec to refine the HDD design and work through consenting. The team started on site in April 2024 and installed first a 140mm SDR7.4 (PN25) return line before installing the two 280mm SDR7.4 (PN25) watermains that will service the Glenbrook area. Significant team effort, completed ahead of time and with no environmental issues nor health and safety incidents. Now the team switch focus to connecting the ends and installing the new hydrants, pressure testing and chlorination before the final completion of the project. More to come…!

Another successful rock installation completed in tough conditions. Major services and fine grade making this a satisfying result.
On Thursday 5th September, the CDS HDD team completed a 50m installation under the busy Peach Parade for our client Morton Construction Ltd. This job was tailor made for our DitchWitch AT40 – made to drill in hard rock. The project required a 1% grade installation in basalt rock. The team piloted over the branch sewer before drilling under the stormwater main and the bulk watermain under Peach Parade, exiting on grade within the clients development. The team completed the 50m installation inside 2 weeks and kept our equipment within 1 lane and the berm reducing disruption to the residents.
