This is a Chia Sisters kegerator sitting in the QT Hotels and Resorts Wellington Museum Apartment Hotel restaurant. Well known for it’s artwork, the team wanted a look that matched their visually stunning space. 🍃Not your average kegerator for sure! But the best part and why we are on this mission, is it has saved them over 500 single use plastic bottles of juice.🍃 Big thanks to Desiree Almaraz-Saavedra Aaron McKenzie ⭐️Nikki Neate⭐️ Florence Van Dyke Chloe Van Dyke

We had a blast at last weekend’s Go Green Lifestyle Expo in Christchurch. We sampled 4,000 sips of our Chia Superfoods and Functional Fruit Smoothies. We chatted all about our pressed juices in kegs project, why our chia bits matter, news of banning energy drinks to under 16, and the nostalgia of feijoa hedges from childhood. We also gained a few helpful insights that we will action. Nothing beats the natural high of face to face time with drinkers - those new to us and those who have supported us from the start. We also want to say cheers to the tremendous foodie Nelson Tasman brands there - Pic's Peanut Butter, Proper Crisps NZ & Australia, Neudorf Black (Fine Foods). Who doesn't love a sample-sized surprise & delight in their online order? We know our drinkers appreciate that little bit extra, as well as being introduced to a new business and it's a lovely way for us to thank them for their support. We have a thriving e-commerce business that serves a premium, health-conscious audience. If you have a perfectly formed sample, online offer, or prize opportunity and would love us to e-introduce you to our drinkers, then get in touch. #smallbuiness #innovation #sampling

We’re busy making New Zealand’s most natural nutritious drinks so it’s amazing to work with Upstock who streamline our orders so we can get Chia Brain Boost, Natural Energy and Gut Health out to store for your daily dose of goodness. Sips and software matter. Choose well.
Our team are super proud that Chia Sisters love using Upstock for running and growing their wholesale business. Chia Sisters is a widely admired brand – for their combination of innovative superfood products and purpose-driven focus. 💪🏽 They're pioneers of superfood drinks and innovators who have bravely taken a staunchly ethical position on the environment, nutrition and social justice. 🌞 Their business runs on solar, they’re a Zero Carbon business, they’re a B Corp, they’ve spoken in parliament on gender pay gaps – they’re walking the walk. 😋 Equally as important, their drinks and powders are super healthy and super delicious! ⚡️⚡️⚡️ “Upstock changed everything. What would usually take a whole morning now takes 20 minutes. We're supplying almost all the New Worlds, Fresh Choices and Countdowns – so it’s pretty massive.” 🤩 See our full case study ⤵️ link in comments ⤵️

There are legends, and then there is Neil Hodgson. For over 25 years, he has written his Wine & Food Column for The Nelson Mail to hero the efforts of local growers, producers, winemakers and hospitality. He has tasted his way around the region, is gracious with his commentary and feedback and is generous with his compliments and sharing our food & beverage stories. His column is read by locals, New Zealanders and many across the globe. A true supporter of local. We thank you. PS Neil has shared our newest drinks news - a Prebiotic Feijoa Smoothie using Livaux®, sourced from our local friends, AuOra available now across NZ. Would you accept 8.6% less? Then why should women? This #internationalwomensday we're highlighting the Gender Pay Gap in Aotearoa New Zealand. On average, women earn 8.6% less than men, and it's worse for our wāhine Māori, Asian, and Pasifika women. Today we're selling a limited selection of our Pressed Juices at @FreshChoice Nelson, filled with 8.6% less juice, highlighting the Gender Pay Gap. 100% of proceeds will go to @womensrefugenz Nelson to support their incredible mahi. This morning our founders Chloe and Florence (along with baby Frida!) also spoke at Parliament about some of the challenges women face in business, including subconscious bias in investment, why flexible work environments matter, and leveraging platforms for good. On Friday, we announced our plans to reduce tonnes of single-use plastic waste ⎯ by offering our locally-made pressed juice in kegs, providing a sustainable solution for high-volume eateries to minimise their reliance on single-use plastic. In the latest issue of the The Post, our Co-Founder Florence Van Dyke wrote about our journey to kegs with Chloe Van Dyke & Abbie Tebbutt. https://lnkd.in/gFke2hAY
Persistence led Chia Sisters to become a package-free juice supplier

Chia Sisters reposted this
At Chia Sisters, we think the best form of packaging is no packaging. That's why over the past 8 months we have been working hard behind the scenes to test the viability of providing our locally-made pressed juice on tap in reusable kegs to help high-volume eateries, like hotel breakfast buffets & ski fields, significantly reduce single-use plastic waste. It hasn't gone without its challenges and there have been moments where we realised there might be a reason why this (as far as we're aware) hasn't been done before with juice. Today we're excited to announce our plans to scale up our offer of pressed juice in kegs to ultimately reduce over 45 tonnes of plastic bottles within the next four years. We will look to drive over $2.1m of investment into this project to scale it appropriately to achieve our targets, with $950,000 (45%) contributed by the Ministry for the Environment (MfE) Plastics Innovation Fund when we reach our milestones. We are excited to be on this journey with the support of MfE and most importantly reducing plastic. The purpose of Te Tahua Pūtea mō te Kirihou Auaha –The Plastics Innovation Fund is to support projects that will minimise plastic waste and its harm to the environment. MfE aims to invest in projects that find ways to use less plastic and make what we do use reusable or recyclable. More information about the fund can be found on the Ministry for the Environment website here https://lnkd.in/g5Yi5xbm
