About us
ROADING - WATER - ENERGY - INTERNET - FORESTRY - TRANSPORT - RECREATION - FARMING - INFRASTRUCTURE Civil Contractors New Zealand is an incorporated society that represents the interests and aspirations of over 600 member organisations – including large, medium-sized and small businesses in civil engineering, construction and general contracting. It also has associate members who provide valuable products, support and services to contractor members. These businesses play a vital role in the development of our country, our economy and our way of life. They build and and maintain the roads that connect our cities and towns. They install and care for the water networks that bring fresh water to houses and wastewater to treatment plants. They even install the cables that bring the internet to homes and businesses. These are services a modern and developed economy must have to compete efficiently in world markets and to deliver high living standards for its people. CCNZ members work for the public and private sectors. Membership is open to any contractor engaged in civil engineering construction and general contracting, including those servicing the rural economy. Associate membership is available to all businesses who service and supply products to the construction/contracting industry.

💥FLASHBACK FRIDAY💥 The 623 metre Mt Victoria tunnel was built in 1931 to link the city with its eastern suburbs. The tunnel was built in 15 months by the Hansford and Mills Construction Company. The project cost around £132,000 and greatly reduced travel time between the eastern suburbs and the central business district of Wellington. Today, investigations are underway for a proposal to build a Long Tunnel for state highway 1 in Wellington, with twin two-lane 4km tunnels that would run from north of the terrace to Wellington road near the suburb of Kilbirnie. This post is part of a series, celebrating CCNZ's 80 years of history supporting NZ's civil contractors from 1944-2024. It is supported by the team at NZ Contractor magazine, and full access to the NZ Contractor magazine historic archives is available at 👇 https://lnkd.in/gpH5eVrR Or free to members from the CCNZ website members portal at 👇 https://lnkd.in/gNrF4Ng7

Future Roads has been made aware that in the current environment there are many from the sector who might want to attend the conference, but are currently between roles. For that reason and to support that group and enable them to continue to contribute to discussions that occur at the conference we have released five conference tickets to be made available to those who are currently not in paid roles. To apply to be considered for these tickets, please submit your name and details to matt.freeman@freemanmedia.co.nz . All information submitted will be treated strictly confidentially. We will randomly select from the pool of applicable individuals. The tickets issued to those selected from that group will look, and be treated, like any other purchased conference attendance. Conference attendance has just gone past 280 and we are confident of a crowd of around 300. November 20-21, Claudelands, Hamilton www.futureroads.co.nz Adrienne L.
