DB operates out of our biggest production site, the Waitemata Brewery in Otahuhu, as well as Tuatara Brewery on the Kapiti Coast, DB Draught Brewery in Timaru, and Redwood Cidery in Nelson.     A great way to kickstart the week for two of our Corporate Affairs team members. Amber McEwen and Lydia Sinclair spent time this week hosting locals from the Ōtara community for a hot lunch and coffee at Ōtara Kai Village’s Koha Kawhe. We’re proud to have Ōtara Kai Village as one of our community partners. Their kaupapa addresses real needs and aspirations in the Ōtara community and ranges from skills development programmes to street festivals and a pātaka kai. Thanks to OKV Community Empowerment Kaimahi Candice Luke for the warm welcome at the Koha Kawhe.

    Congratulations to NZ’s inaugural Heineken® Player 0.0 champion! Wellington carpenter Quin Zander took out the crown last week at Ponsonby’s Studio 230, competing against 11 other players on specially built sim-racers. Player 0.0 is Heineken® 0.0’s one of a kind, simulated racing competition to encourage consumers to drive responsibly. The competition, which attracted 40,000 gameplays since its launch in June, reminds consumers When You Drive, Never Drink. As New Zealand’s ‘Player 0.0’, Quin will represent the country on the global stage in Madrid, with 20 finalists from around the world gathering to race for the ultimate title and a meeting with global Heineken® 0.0 ambassador, F1 superstar Max Verstappen.

    We’ve lined up a treat just in time for summer with the release of Monteith’s new Alcoholic Hazy Lemonade.  With its clean, crisp taste, low bitterness and zesty citrus finish, the new brew is a fresh take on traditional flavoured brews and a welcome alternative for those keen to try something new.  Monteith’s Alcoholic Hazy Lemonade joins Monteith’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer, launched earlier this year, on taps around the country, and is available through liquor stores and supermarkets, a great point of difference from other alcoholic lemonades and ginger beers.  We’re calling our new brews a ‘refreshment revolution’, but you’ll probably just call them delicious.

    We’re stoked to share that DB’s Charlie Stanaway has been selected to join HEINEKEN’s prestigious Women’s Interactive Network programme. Charlie, a senior leader in our Sales team, is about to embark on a 10-month learning journey, starting with a trip to Lausanne, Switzerland, where she’ll connect with 51 other top female HEINEKEN leaders from around the world who are also on the programme. She’ll get the chance to network and learn valuable influencing and coaching skills that will help accelerate her leadership. Charlie’s selection to join the programme recognises her flair for strategic thinking and natural ability to connect with her team and support their development. It will be amazing to watch her flourish.

    Here at DB, we reckon the world has got too serious. Kiwis need some humour now more than ever, and that’s why we’re bringing back our Tui ‘Yeah right’ campaign. This week, after nearly a decade of silence, we announced the return of our iconic ‘Yeah right’ billboards through The Post, Waikato Times, and on Stuff, The Herald, Breakfast TV, billboards, TVNZ+, Radio Hauraki, Meta, and even TikTok. Over the next few months, Tui will be back with its wit and satire, saying what everyone’s thinking, and helping Kiwis lighten up and have a laugh. In an era of cancel culture and endless opinions, our ‘Yeah right’ ads are primed to poke fun at the collective seriousness of the modern world. Of course it’s not always easy being funny, so we’ve also established a call-centre of sorts, manned by our old mate Mike Minogue. If someone loves one of our one-liners, maybe wants to suggest one of their own, or thinks we’ve crossed a line, we want to hear about it. 0800 TUI YEAH RIGHT is open 24/7 and all feedback will be taken very seriously... Yeah right.

    We're excited to share that Billie Yelcich from our Marketing team is heading overseas for three months to join the Global Tiger Brand team, based in the Heineken Regional office in Singapore. Billie is one of our superstar marketing managers and she'll be joining the team in Singapore as Global Project Manager for Tiger. The thing she’s most excited about? Working with our teams across the vibrant and diverse markets of South-East Asia.  Billie’s overseas assignment is a great example of the kind of career opportunities available to DB employees as part of the global HEINEKEN company.
