Changes to Boiler Consenting are rolling out fast, and they’re not going away. With the changes to how New Zealand’s’ process heat devices are consented rolling out, I’ve been hearing from a lot of people who are feeling a bit overwhelmed by the process. I get it — keeping up with shifting regulations is never easy, especially when it involves big decisions for your business. For those of you relying on boilers, dryers or other process heat devices, these new rules are already in play for any new systems, and the deadline for getting consents for existing assets is coming up fast — January 26, 2025. Missing that deadline? Not an option if you want to stay compliant, but it’s also a chance to future-proof your operations. Think about it this way; yes, the consenting process can be a headache, but it’s also an opportunity. It's a chance to focus on reducing emissions, cutting down on energy use, and saving costs in the long run.
