Downer is dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and accepted, regardless of their background. As our organisation keeps growing and evolving, we will continue to prioritise inclusion and belonging to attract, develop and retain diverse talent and foster an inclusive culture. We have recently launched our Inclusion and Belonging Strategy and Action Plan 2024-2026, marking an important milestone in our journey toward a more inclusive and equitable workplace that empowers all employees to thrive and bring their whole selves to work. This Strategy and Action Plan is focused on three key areas: • Gender diversity • Indigenous (Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Māori peoples) • Inclusion (LGBTQIA+, disability and neurodiversity, cultural and linguistic diversity, and generational diversity) Through the delivery of the activities and initiatives in the Strategy and Action Plan, we will create and maintain a culture where all our employees feel respected and are celebrated for their differences. Watch this video to hear from our Chief People Officer, Jan O'Neill, and a number of our employees about what diversity, inclusion and belonging means to them. #TheDownerDifference #Inclusion #Belonging #DEI

We're thrilled to announce that our Downer Utilities team has signed up as a Bronze sponsor of EcoMarines, a not-for-profit foundation based in south-east Queensland that supports school students to be environmental leaders through education and positive action. Eco Marines work to improve the water quality of waterways and adjacent marine environments around the Moreton Bay region. They run school-based education programs to inspire a community of environmental heroes with a vision for a healthy environment for local marine and wildlife through collaborative community action. Downer's partnership with Eco Marines is a perfect fit with our goal to deliver safe and sustainable water and wastewater services, and we're proud that our support will help sustain the delivery of EcoMarines programs for even more students across Queensland.

The energy transition is a complex global challenge that requires collaboration across sectors. Engaging with universities, research institutions and industry is essential in turning innovative solutions into reality. Downer is proud to work with the Franco-Australian Centre for Energy Transition (FACET) on a pre-FEED study to develop a commercial-scale demonstration plant in Australia, producing sustainable synthetic fuels (eFuels) for the maritime and aviation sectors. 🌏✈️🚢 Over the next eight months, we’ll be applying our decades of expertise in solution architecture, asset management, industrial services and power generation to help conceptualise this project. As the world continues to shift toward renewable energy, work like this highlights how collective action can bridge the gap between concept and delivery, driving real solutions for a sustainable future. We’re excited to help shape the future of energy. Read more here: https://bit.ly/3Uyrpeq #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #eFuels #FutureOfEnergy

This year, we released our 2024 Sustainability Report on the ASX and NZX. This comprehensive report highlights our sustainability-related performance, initiatives and targets. Key highlights include: ✅ We published our first climate statement under the Aotearoa New Zealand Climate Reporting Standards, positioning us well for the upcoming mandatory Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards set to take effect on January 1, 2025. ✅ We further aligned our financial and sustainability strategies by successfully completing the refinancing of $500 million of our Sustainability Linked Loan facility, and establishing a new Sustainability Linked Loan framework. ✅ Our new high-performance culture, The Downer Difference, emphasises accountability, customer-centricity, and fostering a safe, inclusive workplace. This aligns closely with our purpose of "enabling communities to thrive", providing the foundation for executing our strategy. ✅ We enhanced our procurement processes by rolling out a new Source to Contract platform, Felix, to streamline vendor management from prequalification to contract management. ✅ We proudly donated over $1 million to philanthropic initiatives, including support for Beyond Blue and the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand Health Foundation. The safety of our people is our top priority at Downer – and this includes keeping our team safe and secure online. We’re committed to educating our people to be more resilient in an ever-changing digital landscape. During October’s Cyber Security Awareness Month, we’ve promoted the importance of digital security at Downer. We’ve run online sessions to showcase the Downer Digital cyber security team’s work behind the scenes, created cross-industry forums to share tips and advice, and launched new cyber security awareness training to our workforce. We frequently run phishing simulation campaigns to train our people to spot scams, which has resulted in a 50% reduction in our email phishing click-through-rate – a score now under the industry average. We’re also launching business unit specific training, covering the most prevalent and persistent risks, recognising Downer’s versatility of services and products. Downer’s ongoing commitment to cyber security is backed by our industry partners, including the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and the Australian Information Security Association (AISA), so we are best equipped to protect the people of Downer. #CyberSecurityAwareness #TheDownerDifference
