Fliway is always looking for innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Thank you to Ross Linton at Etrucks for giving us a demo of the new Windrose electric tractor unit. With a range of 600-650km, it would be ideal for our North Island Linehaul operation. We can't wait to trial this unit once approval has been given to tow trailers on New Zealand roads. Doesn’t it look like it was made for our trailers?

We will be showing the Windrose Technology at the Transfleet Trailers/Allied Petroleum Bombay Truck Show this Saturday at the Bombay Rugby Club. Thanks to Visy Global Logistics NZ for offering space in their display. Etrucks® New Zealand
At the end of last year, Ross did a bit of a North Island tour in the Windrose E1400. The first of many long range trials in New Zealand!
Our last 2024 test of the Windrose Technology was an unloaded tour of the North Island down to Wellington via Mt Maunganui and back to Auckland via New Plymouth and the Mount again. We travelled 1689km using 1232kWh for 0.73kWh/km. The run included climbing the Kaimais three times, Transmission Gully twice, the Desert Rd and Mt Messenger. We ended up with a duration more or less exactly in line with overseas tests. Max power needed was 30% of available output heading south up Transmission Gully at 90kph. Max regen observed was 500A, going the other way. Roll on 2025. Etrucks® New Zealand
