About us

At Fidelity Life we’re guided by our purpose to give New Zealanders certainty to enjoy a more rewarding life. Since we were founded 50 years ago in 1973, we’ve grown to become New Zealand’s largest locally owned life insurer, trusted by over 304,000 customers to be there when things don’t go to plan. Backed by our New Zealand shareholders, including the NZ Super Fund and Ngāi Tahu Holdings, our decisions are made by New Zealanders, for New Zealanders, here in New Zealand with the long term in mind. Working together with like-minded advisers and partners, and taking a customer led approach, we’re focused on closing the protection gap for the long term good of New Zealand.

A year to celebrate! 🥳 Yesterday we surprised our CEO Campbell Mitchell to celebrate his first year at Fidelity Life!    It’s hard to believe 12 months has gone by since Campbell’s first-day pōwhiri, where he wore our special korowai which symbolises the responsibilities of leadership.    And Campbell’s certainly leading the way – he’s the driving force behind our New Zealand growth story and our mission to grow together for the good of all New Zealanders.    What better way to celebrate than with cake?! 🎂 Here’s to many more milestones together. 🥂   #Growtogether #Fidelitylife #Workanniversary

Engage 2024 – Growth for good kicked off in style this morning with our CEO Campbell Mitchell sharing with financial advisers that growing is good for advisers, good for Fidelity Life and, most important good for New Zealand. We know financial advice drives better outcomes for New Zealanders and that’s why we’re constantly investing in helping advisers grow their businesses. Growth has been in our DNA since 1973. It means more New Zealanders protected, more promises kept and claims paid, more flourishing advice businesses and more life insurance profits staying in New Zealand thanks to our local shareholders including the NZ Super Fund and Ngāi Tahu - all for the good of our New Zealand communities. We’ll keep listening to and delivering value for financial advisers because they’ll continue to be our essential growth partners on this exciting journey. When advisers and Fidelity Life grow together, New Zealand grows with us.  #Engage2024 #Growthforgood #Financialadvisers #Growtogether

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kaz Maurice-O'Leary to our Fidelity Life whare. She delivered a moving and inspirational talk about work-life balance. Every day, we strive to deliver extraordinary results for our customers, advisers, and team. Kaz reminded us of the importance of taking time for ourselves and ensuring we make it home on time for our loved ones. Kaz courageously shared her story with us: widowed in her thirties, she learned a profound lesson about prioritising relationships over work. She nearly missed the last meal with her husband—sharing a plate of Bolognese—before losing him in an accident. Her journey serves as a powerful reminder to cherish our loved ones every day.   Her visit made us look inwards and question what is our “Bolognese time”?   We want to extend a huge thank you to Kaz for her inspirational visit! Our Fidelity Life team left the talk feeling motivated and empowered to foster a healthy work-life balance while continuing to deliver exceptional results. Together, we are committed to growing in all areas of life for the good of New Zealand!   #Bolognesephilosophy #FidelityLife #Growthforgood

This weekend, I had the absolute privilege of representing Fidelity Life alongside Carly Orr at the Bellyful New Zealand National Hui, and I couldn’t be prouder. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do – doing work that genuinely makes a difference to the New Zealand community. The day was filled with heartfelt, soul-nourishing, and inspirational speakers from people across the country. I shared a personal story of my own—having lost someone very close to me recently—and being blown away by the kindness and support of those around me, along with reflections of gratitude for the support I felt from my community, family, and friends. Being a recipient of a home-cooked meal in times like that is so much more than just a meal—it’s love, it’s time, it’s comfort. It’s one less thing to worry about. It’s a gift far beyond tasty food. And I’m so grateful for that, and for those who rallied around me and my family. I was truly humbled to be awarded the Bellyful Shining Heart Award at the celebration dinner. This holds personal meaning to me, as it symbolizes not only the impact we’ve made through our work at Fidelity Life but also serves as a reminder and source of pride that my work contributes to something greater. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of something about doing good for others. Thank you for having me, Bellyful. You and your team of 600+ volunteers are truly the stars. And thanks for choosing Fidelity Life to help you support even more New Zealand families.
