About us

We are project managers and advisers. We help clients plan, construct and maintain infrastructure, buildings and environments that are aligned to their strategic and customer needs. A pleasure working with the Brosnan team on this project for the Ministry of Education New Zealand. Despite the complex circumstances, it was delivered on time and within budget. Frequency provided project management services and served as the Engineer's Representative. Great work by everyone involved.

Following a detailed seismic assessment, the Ministry of Education New Zealand decided to undertake earthquake strengthening of the 1960s-era Tower Block at Wellington College. Brosnan was engaged as the ECI contractor, allowing us to develop a staged approach to keep the building operational with minimal disruption to students and staff. Our work on the Tower Block included recladding of both the northern and southern ends of the building, and the bathroom and lift core on the western elevation. We replaced approximately 358 concrete panels with timber frame structures and metal cladding. Additionally, the project involved upgrading fire and electrical services and replacing four small sections of the roof. With 1,800 students on campus during construction, we implemented stringent health and safety measures that kept the site fully secured, monitored, and fenced. Dedicated walkways kept students separate from the site, while the building remained in use by students and staff throughout construction. Our team regularly communicated with the stakeholders and carefully managed tight timeframes so the project could be delivered on schedule.

KiwiRail’s extension of Auckland’s electric rail network to #Pukekohe has reached major construction milestones – the installation and energisation of 19kms of overhead electric lines and the redevelopment of Pukekohe Station.   Transport Minister Hon. Simeon Brown joined the project team at #PukekoheStation yesterday to celebrate.   Our timelapse video shows the station being given a new lease of life – check out the transformation. Getting the major infrastructure upgrades done while keeping the lines open for freight trains and #TeHuia has been challenging, and we are proud of what the team has accomplished.   We’re getting closer to the finish line. We want to thank the community for their continued patience as we finish our foundation work before this section of the line opens to electric passenger trains in mid-January. #KiwiRail #Auckland #electricrail

Last night, we had the privilege of hosting a UDINZ members’ event at our Tāmaki office. Ngā mihi to the teams at Urban Development Institute of New Zealand UDINZ and Eke Panuku Development Auckland for facilitating meaningful connections and discussions around collaboration, the ecosystem of growing community stewardship, cultural context, and its impact.   Executive Associate, Michael Holloway highlighted the alignment between Eke Panuku Development Auckland's vision for Tāmaki and Frequency's commitment to creating a thriving Aotearoa for future generations.

A great evening hearing about the work of Eke Panuku Development Auckland. Holding many puzzle pieces and over time piecing them together to release the potential of places for people, filling in gaps where needed (ideally without needing to call on compulsory acquisition in too many instances). A long term collaborative game with rewarding results and one where Eke Panuku seek to be (as it was put) "biodegradable" - gradually growing the capability of those in the community to care for and take on stewardship of place and the community connections and activations created and themselves fading out. Thanks to Gyles Bendall, Duncan Ecob, Sara Zwart, Niko Elsen and others in the Eke Panuku team that joined us and to the team from Frequency, Tim Palin and Michael Holloway in particular, for hosting us all. A fabulous turnout to an Urban Development Institute of New Zealand UDINZ event in inclement weather, so thanks also to our audience for making the effort to be part of the conversations - with presenters and each other.

Last week, we hosted our mid-year Frequency Graduate Forum, bringing together all our graduates from across Aoteaora to our Tāmaki office. It was an excellent opportunity for them to connect, enhance their soft skills, and learn from senior team members through industry-focused presentations. A big ngā mihi to NZ Strong Group for joining us and sharing valuable insights from the contractor's perspective, and to all our presenters for their contributions.
