One of the changes to come out of the NZ 2024/25 budget was an increase to eligibility for the Independent Earner Tax Credit (IETC) with the upper threshold moving from a pre-tax annual income of $48,000 to $70,000. This is set to benefit an extra 420,000 individuals who don't qualify for Working for Families, main benefits or Superannuation.
