It's #CyberSecurityWeek and we want to encourage our clients and community to take 10 minutes to consider how you're protecting yourself and your connections online. Yesterday we listened in on CERT NZ's free webinar for small businesses from which we had two key takeaways - using long, strong and unique passwords and adding 2 Factor Authentication to our accounts. They have a great campaign running this year to help you protect your business and personal accounts and #OwnYourOnline #StopTheScamathon

‘This is the way things should be done' ~ have you found yourself stuck in this position? It can be easy to say, and yes, maybe there is a better way to do things, but we need to look for new ways to make progress, considering the systems we're operating in. With so much change needed in business and in our world for our future, sometimes we need to be open to doing things a little differently. What's something you've been stuck on recently that could use a fresh perspective? Whatever it is, it only seems impossible until it's done. P.S. We have some urban imagery available to use and download free on Unsplash ~ please tag / credit us in your posts, we'd love to see them! https://lnkd.in/gsHnzehP

We know there can be reservations about marketing and for good reasons. But the thing is, we need more of these purpose-led, world-changing businesses, and we need them to grow. So, how do we do marketing in a way that feels good and creates positive impact? This was the topic of conversation in Nikki's recent chat with Baruk Jacob from reflexiv - replay here: https://lnkd.in/gTxvPteC

You've been resharing content and participating in collaborations for mutual value, but it's not really selling you. These are all great and an important part of building a supportive community around your business, but you also need to talk specifically about your unique offering to the right people to promote yourself. We'd love to help identify what makes you unique and great to work with so people start coming through your door more. Ask about how we can clear up the difference between business development and marketing with our social content and marketing communications plans - more here: https://loom.ly/s-DcWoE #BrandBuilding #MarketingPlan #CommunicationsSupport

A couple of headlines we’re proud of recently! We donated a little time to help spread the Swimmable Cities message in Tāmaki Makaurau. The first article features in the New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects Tuia Pito Ora (NZILA) publication Landscape Architecture Aotearoa and was written by Stephen Olsen and the second article features in Greater Auckland, written by Nikki Goodson. "Sitting in marketing lectures at university, I was often disappointed by the examples that were showcased in class. Images of disposable plastic goods, soft drink giants and oil companies come to mind. I always thought, isn't this supposed to be the place of future learning? So ever since I started my business I've been trying to change that in the little ways I can, by using marketing with purpose and integrity. Because I believe marketing can change the world, through the businesses we shape and build. If business designed it, then business can un-design it and re-design it." A good one to reshare every now and again.

A couple of weeks ago Nikki joined Baruk from reflexiv for 'Thinking Aloud' - a lunchtime webinar series where he asks three key questions - what are you trying to change? What's standing in the way? And what are you doing about it? Watch the replay for some insights on our theory of change, tools of the trade, and some other stuff! https://lnkd.in/gr3aSXYU #Kererū

Knowing the right people is a big advantage in business, there's no doubt about it. But it doesn't have to be a deal breaker to marketing success. Sure having existing contacts can give you a head start with understanding your audience and making connections, but it's amazing how much can be achieved with a purpose-led approach. Because marketing is about attracting your ideal audience, and leading with purpose helps you to do this by inspiring engagement and bridging gaps to connection (which are never far away in our digital world). Rather than selling to friends, you then have another way to connect. And it usually feels nicer for everyone involved. So, what is your business' purpose? 🌟
