Locus is pleased to sponsor and support the 2024 Space, Spatial and Surveying Inclusive Employer Index Survey. This survey is a crucial tool for understanding the state of diversity and inclusion across the Space, Spatial, and Surveying Industry. A joint effort between peak-organisations and business leaders across Australia and New Zealand, the survey is organised by the SSSDLN: Space, Spatial & Surveying Diversity Leadership Network and in partnership with the Diversity Council Australia Ltd. The survey is anonymous, takes 10-15 minutes, and is open to everyone. By adding your experience to the data, the organisers can track industry progress since 2021 and identify areas where we can improve. Thanks to GCA, survey participants can also go in the draw to win a ticket to Locate 25 (brought to you by the Geospatial Council of Australia). To find out more, and take the survey, open until 30 September see - https://lnkd.in/gqEJePmR The results of the survey will ultimately help the industry better understand current diversity and inclusivity; what is being done well and where are the opportunities to improve. Let’s all help grow a more inclusive industry by participating. Responses are being sought from individuals who work, study or participate in the Space, Spatial or Surveying sectors – regardless of your job title or your background. The more that participate, the more data there is and the greater the impact of those findings! 👉 Is New Zealand's water management system on the right track? Yes, it may well be a controversial way to start a post but Three Waters, a term that has been a political football for years, kicked back and forth across the parliamentary benches, is indeed back in the news. After the repeal of the previous government’s centralized water management plans, the current New Zealand government’s “Local Water, Done Well” approach is gaining momentum. Recent reforms have introduced significant changes, including increased local council control, new funding models, and a focus on water asset management. In our latest blog article we explore key aspects of the reforms and the opportunity for Councils to leverage the considerable data management capabilities offered by FME. 🚰 Read the full blog - https://lnkd.in/gU2NAkCV #FMEPartners #FME #waterassets #datamanagement John Arnerich Chris Morris

⏳ How much time could your team save with the right automation? For NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA), manually processing network device photos used to take nearly a full day. Enter Safe Software's FME and they slashed this time by 90%. By automating data extraction and photo handling, NZTA cut processing time from 8 hours to just 5-6 minutes. This efficiency boost didn’t just save time - it allowed the Spatial team to focus on other critical tasks and strengthened their relationships with stakeholders. The reliability and speed of the new system, built trust and confidence in the process and the inclusion of unique identifiers and timestamps in the data mitigated the risk of overwriting, ensuring data integrity and recoverability. A massive thank you to Lorin Lilikoi Lima and Xingwei He (Stewie) from NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi for bringing this story to life, highlighting how FME has transformed their workflow and made a real impact on day-to-day operations.
