About us

mentokc: where awesome people do awesome things. We're not your run-of-the-mill consultancy. Hell, we're not really a consultancy at all. We're more like... well, imagine sitting down for a coffee with that friend who always seems to ask the right questions. The one who listens - really listens - and somehow helps you see your challenges in a whole new light. That's us. That's mentokc. We didn't start with a grand business plan or a fancy mission statement. We started with a simple idea: everyone's got the potential to be awesome. Sometimes, they just need a bit of help uncovering it. So what do we do? We listen. We chat. We throw ideas around. We challenge assumptions - yours and ours. And somewhere in that messy, beautiful process, magic happens. Solutions emerge. Clarity appears. And awesome things start to unfold. At mentokc, we believe in the power of simplicity in a complex world. We believe that your uniqueness is your superpower. And we believe in the transformative power of genuine interaction. As Carl Jung said, "The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." That's the heart of what we do at mentokc - we're looking to transform and be transformed. We've learned that the most powerful insights often come from the most unexpected places. That's why we bring a diverse bag of experiences to every conversation, always ready to see things from a new angle and always open to being changed by the experience ourselves. If you're facing a challenge, feeling stuck, or just want to bounce some ideas around with someone who's probably seen it all (and done most of it), give us a shout. After all, life's too short for boring conversations and untapped potential. Let's see what kind of awesome we can cook up together, and how we might both be transformed in the process.

I help awesome people do awesome things!

Howdy! Brain's gone blank. Been staring at my screen so long I forgot what words are. Wrote some stuff about getting stuck at work. You know, when your mind just... nope. No tips. No hacks. Just some ramblings about why explaining things to office plants sometimes works better than actual productivity techniques. There's also a Sasquatch in a flamingo shirt. Because obviously.

Permission to Pause Burnout was creeping up on Corporatopia. John could see it—the stress, the long hours, the endless push for productivity. But he knew that true productivity doesn’t come from constant hustle—it comes from knowing when to pause and recharge. That’s why John introduced "Permission to Pause." This simple, culture-wide practice encouraged the crew to hit the pause button—literally or figuratively—throughout their day. Whether it’s a five-minute walk, a moment of mindfulness, or just stepping away from the screen for a mental reset, the pause is celebrated, not seen as laziness. Here’s how it worked: Mini breaks: Teams were encouraged to take regular quick pauses during the day—a short walk, a deep breath, or even a few minutes of stretching. Heck John's favourite was five minutes of Beat Saber at regular intervals during the day. Mental resets: The team could step away when they felt overwhelmed, knowing that recharging would actually make them more productive when they returned. Cultural shift: John made sure that pausing wasn’t something to be ashamed of, but rather something to be celebrated. Pausing became a tool for better performance and well-being, not a sign of slacking off. The result? Teams felt more energised, engaged, and focused. Burnout decreased, and productivity actually increased because peeps were no longer running on empty. John’s initiative taught Corporatopia an important lesson: sometimes, the best way to move forward is to pause. Ready to build a culture that values well-being and productivity? Well, well, well. Who would've thought we'd be taking management advice from a cockroach? But here we are, pondering the virtues of headless leadership. Now, before you start eyeing the office guillotine, let's unpack this a bit. We're not suggesting your organisation literally lose its head. (Health and Safety would have a field day with that one.) But what if we loosened the reins a bit? What parts of your company might thrive with a little less top-down control? Maybe it's time to let your team's ideas crawl out from under the metaphorical fridge and into the spotlight? So, what do you think? Which areas in your organisation could benefit from a bit more autonomy? Let's chat about creating an organisation that's as resilient and adaptable as our six-legged friends - minus the tendency to scatter when the lights come on and of course their subjective creepiness. #OrganisationalChange #LeadershipInsights #WorkplaceCulture #InnovativeManagement #BusinessAdaptability #TeamEmpowerment #OrganisationalLearning #mentokc

While not advisable for humans, what parts of your organisation might function better with less top-down control?' Yellow accent shapes in corners. Website: www.mentokc.com

The Chronicles of John: Accountability Partners John knew that real growth—both personal and professional—doesn’t happen in isolation. At Corporatopia, he saw the value in creating a culture where the crew could support and challenge each other to reach their full potential. That’s when he launched the "Accountability Partner Program." Here’s how it worked: Paired for growth: Employees were paired with an accountability partner—a colleague with whom they could set both personal and professional goals. Bi-weekly check-ins: Every two weeks, partners would meet to check in on progress, offer support, and challenge each other to stay on track. It wasn’t about micromanagement—it was about mutual encouragement and making sure no one was left behind on their journey toward growth. Celebrating wins: Progress, no matter how big or small, was celebrated. The goal wasn’t perfection—it was improvement and holding each other accountable in a positive, collaborative way. The results? The team built stronger relationships, felt supported in their goals, and contributed to a collective culture of accountability. With someone in their corner, employees were more likely to stick to their plans, take action, and celebrate their progress along the way. John’s program wasn’t just about setting goals—it was about developing a deeper sense of community and growth, where employees could rely on each other for guidance, support, and motivation. Want to create a culture of accountability and mutual growth? At mentokc, we help awesome people do awesome things—by building supportive, goal-driven teams.
