Some of the functions of NZPI Auckland/Northland Emerging Planners are to engage with and create a community of support, resources and events for EP including a workshop at the annual NZPI Conference catered for EP, hosting social, professional development, networking and mentoring events as well as representing the voice of EP, bringing any challenges EP are facing to employers and the NZPI board, through the Auckland branch. NZPI strongly support the role which Emerging Planners play in the success of the profession in the future and the value of the institute. The NZPI Auckland/Northland Emerging Planners branch strives to better represent the needs, values and aspirations of Emerging Planners as members of the institute: - Fostering links between NZPI and universities - Promoting the role of emerging planners within the profession - Promoting student and graduate membership early on - Promoting interaction between emerging planners branches nationally and regionally - Advocating for the urban planning profession as a whole, and consistent improvement in New Zealand
