The Remarks' new Shadow Basin chairlift is almost ready to roll. The $23 million six-seater Doppelmayr chairlift has been installed at the NZSki Queenstown skifield in an epic project over the summer months. Project manager Louise McQuillan, NZSki's General Manager Technical Operations, says planning began back in 2018 and work on site in September with the decommissioning of the slow, 33-year-old four-seater chairlift. #lwb #lakesweeklybulletin #queenstownnews #remarkablesskifield #nzwinter

Ross is back from his holiday break, and he's ready to share the latest Shadow update! We've powered through three-quarters of the earthworks, the bottom station has started taking form and significant progress has been made on the foundation bed for the top station. The team is back in action after a festive break, and we're stoked to share the latest updates on the New Shadow Chair! 🔧 Mechanical assembly is in full swing, thanks to the expertise of Doppelmayr New Zealand Ltd and the impressive 130T crane lifting pieces for the bottom station. Upper Calypso is nearing completion, offering a wide trail with views all the way to Aoraki. The old top station has been gracefully removed, paving the way for the foundation works of our spectacular new station. Stay tuned for more updates!

The team has done a lot of mahi, making significant progress on the redevelopment of Shadow Basin. Take a peek at the highlights from the past two months. - Dismantling of the bottom station and excavation to get down to café level. - A Spider Digger has been on site helping to the complete tower foundation excavations. This environmentally-conscious machine navigates the landscape without the need for road cutting to access tower sites. - Concrete pouring for the towers is well underway.
