  • Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi, he toa takitini – this whakatauākī emphasises that strength is not as an individual, but as a collective, and the importance of teamwork. Rob Selwyn, Māori Engagement Lead, spoke today at the Māori Leadership Summit in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland about how we’re approaching the kaupapa of advancing Māori careers at One NZ. He was joined by our CEO Jason Paris who talked through some of his experiences of applying te ao Māori. From Mana One to Te Kaa (learning experiences) - and Te Rourou, One Aotearoa Foundation to HAKA Stand as a Nation - they highlighted how we are supporting Māoritanga and trying to grow representation within our business. The pātai (questions) and whakaaro (thoughts) from the audience were really encouraging. We’re all on a journey!

Such an energy filled morning today at One NZ’s International Women’s Day event. I shared my insights on accelerating your career and why Tess McGill from Working Girl needs to be our inspiration. And then I was delighted to share the stage with Summer Collins who generously shared her career advice along with leading a kōrero on the opportunities that AI is opening up for all us. It was a room full of optimism and community. Wonderful stuff. Thankyou to Zoey Phippen and Karen Sneddon for making this event such a first class experience. And to Jono Pratt for his effortless technology magic. And to Ben Phippen and Claire Bonham Holden for being my champions today. And Sarah Bellett for your ongoing and enthusiastic support of this work and of my business. You all rock! #iwd2025 #workingparents #worksforeveryone

      +1
  • AI is rapidly advancing, and we want to harness its incredible benefits for our customers, and for our own people. That’s why we have an aspiration to become the world’s most AI enabled telco. Our Chief AI & Data Director Summer Collins explains our approach. This includes: 🔐 Spending the last couple of years laying the groundwork that will allow us to transform our business to operate in this new world with robust data privacy, security and ethics at the core. ⏱️ Rolling out our first AI tool, Microsoft Copilot, across our office-based workforce, to help our people boost their productivity and to take away repetitive, time-consuming work (our trial group saw an average saving of 39 minutes per day). 💡 Empowering our people to make the most of this new technology, by investing in upskilling and training with the goal of setting them up for future success in their career as AI becomes a key part of peoples working lives, starting with our AI Elevate event. • 🚀 We launched One NZ Satellite TXT to bring coverage like never before to New Zealand, and to keep Kiwis safer, better connected and more productive. It’s amazing to see the positive impact this is already having for our customers, like Interpine Innovation who have called it a ‘gamechanger for the forestry sector’, keeping their field crew operators and foresters in touch in remote locations. We now have over 300,000 customers on eligible phones and plans who can text through space at no extra cost, and we’re working at pace to make coverage like never before a reality for more New Zealanders. For more info check out https://one.nz/satellite

Game Changer for the Forestry Sector! Nationwide Mobile Coverage Interpine team have been using OneNZ’s SpaceX Starlink mobile phone text service over the last couple weeks, and the results are game-changing! Even in the most remote areas, and often under tree canopy our field crews and foresters can now communicate seamlessly using their standard NZ mobile phones. Connecting to satellites passing overhead just like a cell tower. Moving forward, this will open up new methods of communication and cost efficiency for the sector. It will lead to increased productivity and enable environmental or security monitoring systems, and IoT device connectivity. This will shape innovation across the forestry sector, and it is available now. Read more about how this technology is transforming our operations: https://lnkd.in/dxU2PdPg SpaceX One New Zealand

Last night, we had the privilege of attending the Tupu Toa Gala Annual Event alongside our One New Zealand Tupu Toa interns, who will be concluding their internships with us next week. They were joined by their leaders and some of our people team. We were honored to also have guests from Foundation North, Ministry of Social Development, VOYCE - Whakarongo Mai, Simplicity, and Community Builders Trust join us. Thank you for joining us! The evening was a celebration of ambition, resilience, and success, featuring inspiring stories of personal and professional growth. We extend our congratulations to the interns who shared their journeys and to those who have secured roles with their host organisations. Tupu Toa plays a vital role in fostering Māori and Pasifika leadership by providing structured development, mentorship, support and coaching. We are proud to support a program that empowers future leaders and equips them with the skills and opportunities to succeed.
