We attended the Annarehab Industry Partnership Day on the weekend - such a wonderful way to see how incredible these animals are!  It was Andy’s first time being up close and personal with these ex-thoroughbred racehorses.  Annarehab works with youth to help lift confidence and wellbeing using the magic of these majestic horses.  Really making a difference for people in the community.

On the final day of Mental Health Awareness Week 2024, we were at Te Rapa to celebrate race day with our wonderful community. Andy and Victoria were cooking up a storm on the BBQ at the stables to connect with the team behind the races. Yesterday we launched our pilot programme training – OnTrack to Action – at Cambridge Raceway.  OnTrack to Action is the first step toward a mentally healthy future for our racing community. The session covered the challenges we face in racing, how to keep building our community’s strengths, why it’s OK to talk about mental health, and the many ways we can support each other. We had around 30 attendees from all three codes – thank you to all who came, contributed, and shared some lunch with us afterwards.  We got some great feedback, and look forward to refining and rolling out the OnTrack to Action training over the coming months.  #ontracknz  #greyhoundracing #loveracingnz #harnessracingnz #mhaw #mentalhealthawarenessweek
