Wow, we’re 10 years old! The very first product meetup in Auckland took place on February 4, 2015, when Matthew Court brought a group of people together to discuss product management under the original group name "Product Management Auckland". It’s amazing to see that attendees from that very first event such as Kim Thibault and Ginger Li are still regulars and strong supporters of the Auckland community.

Following on from the success of our Xmas happy hour event with UX Auckland, we're going to do it again to farewell summer on Thurs 13 Mar! And this time we'll have the awesome folks from the BA Career and Data and Analytics meetups joining us. Massive thanks to Haunani Pao for organising and Sophie Chen and 😄 Debbie Tan for the collaboration.

And the first ProductTank Auckland event is gonna be on Wed Feb 26! We're starting the year with a bang by opening up the can of worms that is the use of GenAI tools in our work as product people. We've got 4 amazing product leaders - Perrin Rowland, Adi Komari, John Bowker and Natalie Burrows who will talk about how they actually use these tools in the real world and what they learned along the way - we wanted to cut thru the hype and BS surrounding these tools to focus on what our community are actually using them for.

Next Tues 26 Nov we are doing something a bit different and collaborating with the BA Career meetup on a panel discussion. In the recent state of product survey we found that the most common role that product people had prior to taking on a product role was business analyst (27%). And it is common in orgs for these 2 roles to collaborate closely. So in this event we will explore the differences and similarities between the role, and talk about the career path.
