  • High Performance Testing - 3x kids + Heaps of Fun Remember Paul's pool project from last summer? We took a bold step and clad it with our betterJOINERY Exposed carcass material. After 15 months of intense real-world testing (including endless kid bombs!), the results are in.... 🚰 Highly moisture resistant 🪵 Natural 'Exposed' look in White Noise or Black ☠️ Zero formaldehyde or VOC emissions ⚒️ Superior edge and screw hold 🗑️ 100% recyclable through saveBOARD Why keep using MDF? It's moisture-sensitive, paper-covered, potentially toxic, structurally weaker, and destined for landfill. Fun fact: Australia & NZ makes over 240,000+ kitchen renos yearly, but 95% of materials end up wasted. Time for a change.... Ready to build sustainably? DM us to learn how betterJOINERY can level up your next project or email us at enquiries@saveboard.nz or sales@saveboard.com.au #ClientInspiredInnovation #CircularEconomy #SustainableJoinery #InnovationByDesign #GreenBuilding

🔄 Client-Inspired Innovation ♻️ Innovation often starts with a simple question... When showcasing our new betterJOINERY Ultima Laminate range late last year, one client asked: "Can you make the carcass material too?" The reasoning was compelling - carcass material represents 4x the volume of MDF used in kitchen, office, and retail fit outs. Traditional MDF has significant drawbacks: 🚰 Moisture sensitivity 🪵 Lack of natural wood grain ☠️ Potential formaldehyde content and VOC emissions during fabrication ⚒️ Poor edge and screw hold 🗑️ No viable end of life options = landfill Challenge accepted. We already had the product, we just needed to refine it further to achieve the desired performance properties. How did we do it?: ✅ Reduced particle size by 50% for a finer finish ✅ Increased density in our 15mm product ✅ Created an exposed dual-sided finish without paper coating ✅ Maintained the distinctive saveBOARD aesthetic yet muted in white Ensured complete recyclability through saveBOARD's closed-loop system The result? A water-resistant, edge-tapeable carcass material that's 100% circular in design. Now this client and others can create fully circular joinery fit outs with saveBOARD across every component - from carcass to panels to benchtop. Initial market feedback confirms we've hit the mark: customers love the sustainability credentials without compromising on aesthetics or price point. #ClientInspiredInnovation #CircularEconomy #SustainableJoinery #InnovationByDesign

  • Best Start for 2025! 🌱 Exciting News: saveBOARD now has 5x Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) published on EPD Australasia, covering our product range. This is game-changing for Australian and New Zealand building professionals looking to reduce their environmental impact. Why this matters: 🏡 Exceptional Carbon Performance: Our products achieve a global warming potential (A1-A3) of -4.3 to -10.1 kg CO2e/m2 (-430 to -840 kg CO2e/m3), comparable to air-dried Pine and Glulam beams. In practical terms, each sheet installed saves between 12-30kg of carbon from your building project (depending on the product used). ♻️Circular Economy: Beyond carbon storage, our products are manufactured using 99% recycled materials, delivering dual environmental benefits - preventing recyclable material from entering landfills while creating high-performance building materials. For architects, designers, and developers: Using saveBOARD is now one of the simplest ways to reduce your project's Upfront Embodied Carbon while supporting Circular Economy principles. #CarbonReduction #BuildingSustainableFutures #ReducingCarbonFootprints #EPDs #saveBOARD Thanks to Edge Impact, Emma Green, Pasindu Samarakkody for helping make them a reality. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About EPDs: Environmental Product Declarations are independently verified documents that transparently report a product's environmental impact to international standards. They're essential tools for comparing materials and making informed sustainable building choices.

  • Just in time for Christmas! Woolworths Supermarkets have unveiled their newly refurbished Pukekohe store, featuring saveBOARD's sustainable building materials as part of the fit out. The store showcases our Exposed internal linings, manufactured from: ♻️ Recycled food & beverage cartons collected at our 92x Community drop-off points https://lnkd.in/g9U5UdRE ♻️ Soft plastics (30%) collected through the Packaging Forum's in-store recycling program https://lnkd.in/gvKJmANi Each sheet repurposes 25kg of packaging material, replacing the need for virgin materials. We've created a custom Woolworths Emerald Green finish to align with their brand identity while maintaining our commitment to sustainability. This environmentally friendly fit out demonstrates how sustainable materials can be both cost-effective and visually striking. We're proud to help Woolworths Group reduce their environmental footprint while creating beautiful retail spaces. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #RetailInnovation #NewZealandMade #AustralianMade #GreenBuilding , The Packaging Forum

Is this the Most Sustainable Christmas Tree on the Planet??? This holiday season, we've reimagined the Christmas tree – turning packaging waste into a statement of sustainability. While the debate continues about real versus artificial trees, saveBOARD has created our own take on this tradition - worthy of future studies.... 🎄 Our Christmas tree is made entirely from saveBOARD and saves carbon from the environment; our EPD's (Environmental Product Declaration) have now been verified and are due for early January publication. The Multi-use panel used here has a GWP of -10.0kgCO2/m2 (A1-A3 incl biogenic carbon). This single saveBOARD tree saves a 28.8kg of CO2 – that's sustainability you can see! A bit of festive fun from our teams in Hamilton, New Zealand and Warragamba, Australia. We're taking a break for the holidays and will be back on January 13th. Merry Christmas and happy holidays! #MostSustainableChristmasTree #CircularEconomy #ChristmasFun #saveBOARD

  • Never stop innovating - that's the backbone to our business. To our great surprise we've been selected in the Top 10 innovators in New Zealand. Congrats to all the other nominees - its an outstanding list of everyday kiwis who are doing great things.   Our mission is to provide sustainable building materials to the built environment. We're more than just a company – we're a conduit for businesses to create their own circular economy story, helping to connect concept with reality. We've developed tools, knowledge, and expertise to create products that are viable alternatives to traditional building materials. In many cases, these alternatives are market-leading in performance, price, and planetary impact.   A massive shoutout to our key supporters and the everyday New Zealanders and Australians who collect their cartons and dispose of them responsibly and get them back to us.   Thanks to our supporters: @TetraPak @sig @Woolworthsgroup @KFC @LTMcguinness @Sanitarium @BigW @Bunnings @NGV @NaylorLove @Meridian @ElevateHomes @Milliken @McCormacks @Ultima @Mulfords @VisionaryDigital   #Sustainability #Innovation #CircularEconomy #NewZealandTech

  • We keep on making our saveBOARD products and the Woolworths store development team keep on integrating them into their stores. Its such a great way to showcase our value proposition by simply going into their stores to see them: - At saveBOARD we are transforming post-consumer packaging (cartons + soft plastics) into a high-performing building material; which is a high impact product, that can easily be cleaned and hides marks that would normally be visible on a painted surface. - Over the last 18months we've collaborated with Woolworths to create their own custom color (Emerald Green). The finished product is Australian Made using common packaging materials. - Who would have thought that the wall linings around the milk fridges can be made from milk cartons? Go figure... - The final result is an environmentally friendly fit out that is cost-effective, fit for purpose, a low-carbon solution and looks great too! What more could we ask for? If we had a magic wand we want more companies prioritising circular economy products like ours. The more products sold, the greater the impact we can make! #CircularEconomyLeadership #ValueProposition #AustralianMade -------------------------------------------------- saveBOARD is a company dedicated to transforming the built environment through the development of sustainable building materials. We are committed to reducing waste and promoting a circular economy by converting waste materials into high-performance building products. saveBOARD products are proudly made in Hamilton, New Zealand and in Warragamba, NSW, Australia.
