Last week, I had the privilege of attending the She Sharp & Fonterra event on Harness the Power of Generative AI. A special thank you to Dr Mahsa McCauley (Mohaghegh), Michael McCauley and the entire She Sharp team for their hard work and collaboration in making this event a success. It was event night last night! I attended Fonterra's AI and Data event with She Sharp Great to see how Fonterra is harnessing artificial intelligence to transform its value chain. Streamlining operations— manual labour through advanced data interpretation. So good to see how they are constantly improving their processes using computer vision and machine learning to innovate and better efficiencies and safety for their team on a significant issue that halts supply: faulty packaging. Previously, dealing with this problem took up to 3 hours to clean up, butter not packaged correctly can make for an oil slick, requires extensive cleanup operations and posed safety risks. Slippery business butter! Introducing cameras and machine learning algorithms that can spot defective packages in real-time detects and remove problematic packages before they disrupt the production line. We also had a blast doing an interactive piece on prompt engineering with AI-generated images. Glad I won the squeezy cow! It's good rehab for my broken hand! A big shoutout to Fonterra for hosting a fun and enjoyable event!

Exciting insights from Fonterra's AI journey! The dairy giant is leveraging artificial intelligence to revolutionize its value chain, safeguarding 34 production lines and saving 150 years of manual effort by interpreting century-old information. It's fascinating to see how AI is transforming the dairy industry, from optimizing production to enhancing sustainability. For example, there was an issue with faulty packaging that caused disruptions and safety concerns, requiring 3 hours to clean up the production line. 🤯 To address this, they implemented cameras and machine learning to detect defective packages. The AI model was trained on examples of both good and bad packages, and it can now quickly identify and remove the faulty ones before they cause problems on the production line 🤖 We had fun generating AI images related to dairy farming and production and seeing the She Sharp team and some familiar faces again made my day!🐄 Thank you Fonterra and She Sharp for putting together such a wonderful event! 🌟 Had an amazing time at yesterday's SheSharp meetup hosted by Fonterra! 🌟 The evening was the perfect blend of tech and fun—who knew AI and butter could mix so well? 🧈 We got a deep dive into how Fonterra is using AI to tackle real-world challenges like faulty packaging (slippery business, indeed!). Their machine learning systems are making sure butter stays where it belongs—in the package, not on the floor! I also met some wonderful people, including my new event bestie, Teena Anu Shaji, who aced the marble race and scored a chocolate prize! 🍫 But the highlight for me? My wild guess in the "Guess the Weight" game won me a Lego Fonterra Train 🚂—talk about beginner’s luck! Who could forget that funny moment when we all repeated, "I don't know" "I may be wrong" and "It's interesting" after the lecture? 😂 Such a great way to embrace curiosity and learning. Beyond the tech talk, I connected with some truly inspiring people, including Elena Calderon , Igor Portugal, Suzanne Holland, and more. I left the event energized and grateful for the opportunity to network with such a fantastic group. Big thanks to Fonterra and SheSharp for an event that was both informative and incredibly fun.
