Our BMW motorcycle distributor, BMW Motorrad NZ, has also been experiencing the benefit of getting close to their customer at in-person events. The 2024 NZ Motorcycle Show was held recently at Auckland Showgrounds where our team took the opportunity to unveil two brand new bikes and offer customers a chance to test ride a selection of the latest products. Thanks Journey Pictures Limited (Jeremy) and Ockert-John van Jaarsveld for these great pics. #BMWMotorrad #premiumbrandspremiumpeople

It’s been an awesome few weeks at Sime Darby Commercial - staying close to our customers and the cutting edge of innovation with all our recent events. The busy quarter finished up with the ‘jewel in the crown’ - the NZ Road Transport Hall of Fame, where the industry comes together to honour and celebrate the outstanding contributions made by several Kiwis, up and down the country, to the national road transport industry. Sime Darby Motor Group is proud to be a major partner of this event, with our commercial brands Mack Trucks New Zealand, Volvo Trucks New Zealand, Truckstops, Hino NZ, TWL, Transpecs and UD Trucks New Zealand, all sponsoring this grand event. Congratulations to the 2024 inductees to the Hall of Fame. #premiumbrandspremiumpeople #roadtransporthalloffame

Our investment in property continues with the latest purchase of a large site in the Tauranga suburb of Tauriko, which will become the home to a purpose-built Truckstops truck service centre and Volvo Trucks New Zealand sales office, plus an external truck display area. We’re proud to share the artist impression of this new development and look forward to work commencing in early 2025. The purchase of our Tauriko site comes shortly after the April announcement of a long-term ground lease in the Ruakura Superhub near Hamilton, developed by Tainui Group Holdings Limited. “Our Tauriko and Ruakura developments represent significant investment in a key area for our truck servicing customers, as the Golden Triangle sees 56% of New Zealand’s total freight movement,” said Pat McKenna, Managing Director, New Zealand and Director of Commercial Vehicles Asia Pacific. “These property investments are part of Sime Darby Motors’ ongoing programme of growth and investment in New Zealand, positioning us for future growth.” #premiumbrandspremiumpeople #tauriko

Our premium truck brand, Volvo Trucks New Zealand, along with Transpecs and Continental Cars Porsche came together recently at the Volvo Trucks Drive Day at Hampton Downs. Over 40 key customers, plus representatives from Volvo Group Australia, turned out to experience the latest heavy (FM) and light (FL) electric solutions, as well as the new Euro 6 standard FH16 650 – and customer interest in the Volvo electric range was high! Food trucks and coffee carts kept everyone refreshed and around $1,000 was raised to support our charity partner Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand. #premiumbrandspremiumpeople #VolvoElectric

We wanted to share a comment from motorsports legend, Greg Murphy who is speaking at a Sime Darby Commercial customer event held this morning, ahead of the NZ Road Transport Hall of Fame gala dinner in Invercargill. When asked the question "Given it's Mental Health Awareness Week, how do you get over 'imposter syndrome'?" Greg replied: "You have to build your confidence, from failure and from utilising new tools in your toolbox. This sport is tough, you are constantly judged on your success, so you have to keep getting back up and trying”. AWESOME! What's also awesome is seeing our customers donate to Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand as part of the event. If you'd like to help us hit our $150,000 target to support the Foundation's important mahi, you can donate now here: https://lnkd.in/g7ivW2bj 🙏 #MHAWNZ #careforall #wintogether

It’s the final day of Mental Health Awareness Week - Whakawhetai (Gratitude) Friday - and we’d like to thank our teams for taking time over the past four days to help build our workplace community. Like a rope, we’re at our strongest when the strands are woven tightly together. Thank you also to the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand for the vital mahi you do to help uplift the wellbeing of everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand. If you’d like to help us support the vital mahi done by Mental Health Foundation NZ, click here to donate now: https://lnkd.in/g7ivW2bj #MHAWNZ #careforall #wintogether

When we build relationships at work, we create a support system for everyone. It’s Tūhono Thursday and connection is the Mental Health Awareness Week theme today. Research shows that strong social connections are essential for life satisfaction and health, which is why being part of a community can provide us with a sense of belonging, purpose and connectedness. We’ve challenged our teams to take a few minutes today to find some common ground with someone they haven’t connected with yet. #MHAWNZ #careforall #wintogether

On Monday, TWL was the first of our businesses to open its doors to customers at our new Sime Darby Commercial hub in Christchurch. This large development project at Waterloo Park began in early 2023 and has delivered brand new, purpose-built facilities for our TWL, Volvo Trucks New Zealand, Truckstops, Hyster New Zealand businesses and South Island Distribution Centre. As teams settle into their new premises over the coming weeks and months, we look forward to sharing our excitement around this major investment with customers and friends. Thanks to our property team, Southpark Group, Calder Stewart and their subcontractors for the hard work that's got us to this point. #Wintogether

Last month, Volvo Trucks New Zealand and UD Trucks New Zealand exhibited at Hamilton’s EROAD Fleet Managers Day that saw over 1200 people walk through the door. The UD Quon – currently celebrating its 20th birthday – was proudly on display, showcasing the latest in safety technology and engine efficiency. At the Volvo Trucks stand, people got to experience Volvo’s world leading electromobility technology first hand with the new electric range. The FM and FL Electric was on display, as well as the new Volvo FH16 650 with its latest advancements in fuel efficiency and safety. Continuing the electric theme, there was also a human ‘recharge station’ in the Volvo Trailer where attendees could kick back and relax. #VolvoTrucks #UDTrucks #FleetDay
