🥃💊WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MIX COCAINE & ALCOHOL? When Cocaine & alcohol are consumed at the same time, our body creates a new substance called Cocaethylene. This is unique because it's the only known instance where two drugs combine inside our bodies to form a new one! Cocaethylene is produced when the liver processes both alcohol and Cocaine together. Its effects are similar to cocaine, but last longer, putting particular strain on the heart. Compared to Cocaine alone, it's more likely to cause heart damage, including heart attacks, and regular use of both substances can lead to long-term heart issues. Cocaethylene remains in the users system almost twice as long as Cocaine, increasing the risk of overdose. User's will experience severe side effects including anxiety, agitation, jitters, nausea, dizziness, a racing heart and seizures. Research has shown that Cocaethylene is also a liver toxin. Regular abuse of Cocaine and alcohol together can lead to serious liver damage. Source: thelevel.org.nz #didyouknow #drugandalcoholtesting #workplacesafety

Very wise. Lets hope we see a decrease in these stats with the implementation of roadside drug testing!
Drugs are present in nearly a third of all fatal crashes on our roads. If you have taken drugs, do not drive. Find out more about how drugs affect your ability to drive 💊 https://lnkd.in/gC3Vu4_6

Opiates or Opioids🧐? The main difference between opiates and opioids is how they are made. Opiates are natural chemicals taken from the opium poppy plant. Prescription medicines of this include: Opium, Morphine, and Codeine. Opioids are chemical compounds that are synthetically made in a lab and mimic what is found in an opium poppy plant. Prescription medicines of this include: Methadone, Imodium, Vicodin and Oxycontin. Basically, all opiates are opioids, but not all opioids are opiates! #drugtesting #didyouknow

Return of the.. 📧Common Customer Question📞 "Do you have something that tests for GBL?" Well.. ish. We have a device that tests for GHB. GBL is converted into GHB when digested, so if someone returns a non-negative test on this device, it can either be for GBL or GHB. To identify the specific drug that is causing the non-negative result, it would be best to send a sample to a laboratory for confirmation testing. Saliva, blood, and hair follicle testing are also ways of detecting GHB/GBL, however they're not commonly tested for as they can only be picked up on in a very short window and can be unreliable. #commoncustomerquestion #workplacesafety #drugtesting
