The event was very successful, with the number of young sailors participating increasing on previous years. It was fantastic to see the sailing community come together again to support the regatta and the next generation. The annual STACK Winter Champs are taking place later this week and over the coming weekend at Murrays Bay Sailing Club in Auckland. Since 2010, STACK Interiors has proudly sponsored the championships, encouraging sailors of all ages and experience levels to get out on the water. The regatta is held at the beginning of October each year to mark the end of winter and the arrival of spring. With the weather the way it has been lately, it could make for some interesting conditions! We wish the very best to everyone participating. Bravura Solutions, a leading software developer that provides innovative technology solutions to the world's top financial institutions, recently relocated to the heart of Takapuna’s CBD. Designed and built by STACK Interiors, the workplace takes advantage of the tenancies unobstructed views across Waitematā Harbour, Auckland CBD and Waitākere Ranges, and was designed to create a welcoming environment to bring people back into the office. A multifunctional space takes prime location and is designed for social activities, collaboration, and hosting larger townhall events. Emphasising sustainability, 80% of the existing built environment was retained while new furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) enhance the workplace and offer diverse working options, with flexible spaces and interconnected meeting areas facilitating communication and teamwork. The green wall at the lift lobby entrance not only enhances the arrival but also provides a sense of cohesiveness, mirroring Bravura’s offices across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa and India. Additionally, bold colour choices that reflect Bravura's corporate branding have been integrated into the design, bringing a sense of continuity and connection across their global offices. Special New Zealand, an independent advertising agency, is known for generating the world’s most creative and effective ideas to help brands prosper. The agency was born from the desire to break down traditional silos between advertising and design, ultimately delivering cohesive and seamless thinking across their work. The brief for their new workplace, designed and built by STACK Interiors, was both specific and inspiring: Emphasising the need to accommodate their expanding team and align with their creative ethos. Foreseeing limitations of their current premises, Special sought a space that sustained growth and fostered creativity and inclusivity. Engaged early in the search for new premises, STACK worked with Special to undertake a thorough exploration of the site (including accessing a key criterion) a space with character that aligned with the agency’s vibe. Through zonal mapping and a focus on employee journeys within the space, we crafted a design concept guided by bold, ambitious, creative and innovative principles. This resulted in a workspace that seamlessly integrates sculptural forms with a vibrant yet soft colour palette, embodying Special’s creative spirit. During the design process we paid close attention to material and detailing selection, ensuring that every aspect of the workplace reflects Special’s dynamic and ambitious nature. By harmonising the building’s character with our design objectives, we created a workspace that not only celebrates architectural heritage but also enhances operational efficiency and creativity. The result is an inspiring and functional environment where every element serves a purpose, fostering productivity and creativity for Special’s team, and enabling them to deliver on their vision for a more equitable Aotearoa. Mikayla Roadhouse, Iva Parapunova and Sally Vandal from STACK Interiors had the opportunity to be part of the recent Crestline Furniture Systems Symposium organised by the Designers Institute of New Zealand. Ten workplace winners and judges from the Best Design Awards were invited to the symposium to share insights on creating workplaces that not only support day-to-day tasks but also empower individuals to perform their best. Here are some key takeaways: – Workers are seeking in-person, meaningful work, and identity, connection, and belonging are vital. – True choice fosters flexibility and caters to diverse needs and ways of working within the workplace. – Workplace design needs to champion people, focusing on creating spaces that empower individuals and teams. – Workplaces should offer amenities and environments that go beyond what a home can provide. – Workplace wellness is paramount. – People-centric design and high-quality furniture are essential for establishing a unique workplace identity.
