    Over many years we have worked with a huge number of awesome, ambitious Kiwi tech companies, supporting their marketing efforts.    In the many conversations we have had with clients and prospects in recent times we've come to realise and appreciate that one cap doesn't fit all in regard to their marketing needs. Many companies require exceptional executional and delivery support at speed whilst some want strategic marketing guidance/advice.   Now is the time to double down on our findings. So, we are spinning out the strategic marketing services offering into a new business called Flux which will be owned and ably run by Michael Friedberg. Flux will focus exclusively on strategic marketing leadership and growth and will be a separate business to SwayTech. SwayTech has supported an incredible number of Kiwi tech companies over many years. Working with fast growing Start-ups through to some of NZ’s largest tech companies, we have delivered impactful marketing expertise to help them grow and thrive internationally. Our passion to support these companies is part of our desire and drive  to elevate tech to be NZ’s #1 exporter. Moving forward, we will be accelerating our efforts to deliver the top quality marketing support for our many clients and support the growth of the Kiwi tech ecosystem with our involvement with the  NZ Hi-Tech Awards, assisting companies who are looking to raise capital and providing business advisory services to growing tech companies. While SwayTech and Flux will operate as separate businesses, we will work closely together and are closely aligned in our common goal: Supporting the success of ambitious Kiwi Technology companies.   • We loved hosting the fractional meet-up Christmas Hui last night. While it's been a big year, with lots of challenges, this team is still telling stories of awesome clients and amazing outcomes. The office was filled with laughter, energy and ideas of how to deliver impact in 2025 So from SwayTech to all the fractional leaders out there - we wish you a season filled with collaboration, strategy, and just the right balance of fun and focus.     Status quo marketing is over. In a recent keynote this was my call to arms. The traditional playbook doesn't cut it anymore. Today, marketing must be more than just campaigns and KPIs—it’s about creating real customer impact and driving business growth. At SwayTech, we've been part of a massive shift: From focusing solely on vanity metrics like clicks and impressions to ensuring those numbers translate to real outcomes—customer growth, strategic alignment, and revenue. Here is what successful Kiwi tech companies are doing that’s working: 👉 Think Beyond Leads: Leads are just step one. The real job is ensuring marketing efforts translate into sales success and customer retention. Collaborating deeply with sales teams to ensure quality over quantity is now table stakes. 👉 Enable Your Whole Organisation: Marketing is too important to be left to the marketing department alone (as said by HP's David Packard). We’re actively enabling our clients' teams—not just marketers—to understand the role of marketing and act with a marketing mindset. 👉 Speak Business, Not Jargon: When we present to CEOs and Boards, we focus on business impacts, not marketing metrics. Conversion rates, expected revenue, customer retention—that’s what matters. Marketing is changing at a rate I have not seen in my 30 years, and those who adapt will lead.
