Enabling Excellence for legal professionals.

About us

The Law Association (formerly ADLS) is an independent membership organisation representing the New Zealand legal profession. With a proud history spanning over 135 years, and close to 5,000 voluntary Members, our programmes foster collegiality, thought leadership and professional development. The Law Association operates 18 legal committees, delivers a highly regarded CPD programme, produces and maintains over 150 widely used legal forms, operates a successful online WebForms portal, as well as an inspired calendar of collegiality events to connect the profession. In addition, we produce a weekly hard copy legal publication LawNews, distributed to 5,500 subscribers, and a fortnightly eBulletin subscribed to by almost 10,000 legal professionals. Continuing our long tradition of building connections between the profession, academia and law students, we run programmes to support future law graduates throughout the early stages of their careers by offering work experience, mentorship and collegial opportunities.
