We eliminate single-use plastic with reuse at scale. Returnable is the new reusable. turnus.in

About us

We believe that ridding the planet of single-use plastic requires a revolutionary approach. TURN’s capture-and-reuse system started in Australia and New Zealand in 2012 – and is continuing to reimagine systems thinking and the principle of circularity. TURN’s basic philosophy is simple: If consumers reTURN empty cups for reuse, WAY less plastic waste will be produced and disposed of inappropriately. What makes our system unique is the hardware and software technology that can be integrated into any brand offering — accelerating the F&B industry’s transition away from single-use plastics. We’ve built a reuse platform designed for scale. - Smart packaging and bins that limit cross contamination - Incentive driven structure that rewards consumers for reTURNing - Smart software to track user reTURNs - Washing system that cleans more efficiently and effectively than alternatives - Measurable sustainability data No other reuse system caters so seamlessly for both large scale events like music festivals and sports matches and for venues like airports and stadiums. We are starting a reTURNable revolution. Will you join?

TURN scores a goal for sustainability by partnering with the United Soccer League (USL) to tackle plastic pollution ⚽♻️ Through the USL's Preferred Supplier Program, TURN will equip USL Super League, USL Championship, and USL League One venues with our reusable cup system. This program is a win-win for fans and the planet, offering rewards, convenience, and a major boost to sustainability efforts. By using these cups, fans can score big points for the environment while enjoying their favorite matches. The system rewards fans for their eco-conscious choices, making it a score for everyone. 💡 Did you know a complete plastic bag ban cleared in the California Senate? At TURN, we applaud California's recent legislation, Senate Bill 1053, which mandates a complete ban on all plastic shopping bags by 2026. This bold step signifies the state's continued leadership in environmental responsibility. However, as thought leaders in sustainable solutions, we believe there's more to be done. The data speaks for itself. A recent New York Times article highlights a critical issue – the increased use of thicker "reusable" plastic bags, which often end up in landfills just like their thinner counterparts. The key lies in true reusability, not simply replacing one type of plastic with another. Our mission at TURN is to empower consumers with innovative, long-lasting reusable alternatives that minimize environmental impact. California's updated legislation is a positive step, but it's just the beginning. What do you think?

It was fantastic today to see reusable cups all over Petaluma. Starbucks Burger King KFC Target and many local cafes in the City of Petaluma are using reusable cups and have deployed bins across the city to collect all of the cups. After TURN - REUSE deployed with Starbucks in 2023 for a rollout across Napa and Petaluma it is great to see a full city roll-out across multiple locations and a city with bins everywhere. #reuse #petaluma

"There is no such thing as 'away'. Things you throw away simply end up somewhere else." - Annie Leonard This powerful statement underscores the reality of our waste problem. While it might seem convenient to discard single-use items, the truth is, they don't simply vanish. They accumulate in landfills, pollute our oceans, and harm wildlife. At TURN, we believe in a circular economy where waste is minimized and resources are maximized. Our reusable cups are a tangible solution to the single-use plastic crisis. By choosing reusability, we're not just reducing waste, we're actively contributing to a healthier planet. Let's challenge ourselves to rethink our consumption habits and embrace a more sustainable future. Together, we can create a world where the concept of "away" becomes obsolete. #sustainability #circulareconomy #reusability #plasticpollution #turn

The Secret to Eliminating Single-Use Plastic: Rewards 🎁 Did you know a staggering 50,000 single-use plastic bottles and cups are used EVERY SECOND? With only 9% being recycled, this plastic crisis demands a radical solution. Over the last decade, TURN has tested dozens of approaches, and we’ve settled on a powerful solution: rewards! ⭐ Positive Reinforcement > Punishment Punitive approaches like deposit schemes often backfire, breeding resentment. Rewards, however, create a positive association with reuse. This positive experience makes individuals more likely to repeat the behavior, leading to sustained habits. 📈 Gamifying Reuse leads to a 10% Increase in Returns. Over the last decade, when TURN has implemented rewards programs, we have seen a 10% increase in return rates, with the number of people returning products now consistently over 90%. 🌊 What’s the impact of a 10% increase?  A recent report by Oceana states that just a 10-percentage point increase in reusable packaging by 2030 can eliminate over 1 trillion single-use plastic bottles and cups!
