FIELD TRIP TO FOODSTUFFS: LEADING THROUGH CHANGE - RECAP On Thursday, October 10th, 35 UAWB members had the opportunity to visit Foodstuffs North Island Limited on UAWB's Field Trip! Students hopped on the bus from the University of Auckland and headed to the Foodstuffs Office. The event commenced with an insightful tour of the Foodstuffs office and facilities, which was completed with a stop for complimentary hot chocolate before heading into the engaging panel discussion. Students heard from two inspirational speakers: Wendy Hammonds, the General Manager of People, and Alice Bayley Owner Operator of Four Square Otaika. We delved into topics of leadership through change and the alternative path of the owner-operator model. The speakers inspired our members by sharing their stories and imparting valuable learnings about the importance of a people-centric approach to leadership and developing the confidence to follow your aspirations. We concluded the formal portion of the event with an engaging discussion activity where students implemented what they had learned from the discussion. Our members thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and we are grateful that this event could serve as a platform for Foodstuffs to showcase its commitment to supporting future female leaders. Our UAWB members learned from some of the brightest minds in the industry. We want to thank Foodstuffs for facilitating this opportunity. We would especially like to thank Montana Thomas and Ruawai Te Rata for their instrumental role in coordinating this event. Lastly, thank you to Sofie Mulligan for making the event happen. This was Sofie's final event in her UAWB Executive role as Director of Leadership, and she did a phenomenal job organising such unique and engaging events for our members.
