🎉 TOMRA Collection Romania has reached a milestone 500,000 drink container return sessions taking place daily through its reverse vending machines. In January this year, average daily consumer sessions through TOMRA reverse vending machines was 21,700; by June, it was 454,000. This demonstrates that interest and participation in the new DRS is constantly growing! As of July 2024, the EU's Single-Use Plastics Directive now requires that single-use beverage containers under 3 liters have caps that stay attached during use and storage. This small change makes a big difference, ensuring that bottle caps are easier to recycle. 🧴 Designed to reduce litter: Bottle caps are one of the most common litter items. Tethered bottle caps help prevent them from becoming litter, keeping our beaches and communities cleaner. 🐬 Protecting marine wildlife: Loose plastic caps pose a serious risk to marine life.
