IOC President joins Olympians and cultural stars at Mengniu’s China Night in Paris

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach joined the Vice-President of COFCO Group and Chairman of Mengniu Group, Qing Lijun, the CEO of Mengniu Group, Gao Fei, and Mengniu brand ambassadors Olympic champion Eileen Gu and award-winning actress, director and producer Jia Ling as he attended the China Mengniu Dairy Company’s China Night celebrations, hosted by the Worldwide Olympic Partner in Paris.

The event provided an opportunity to promote cultural exchange during the Olympic Games, with performances by the Beijing and Paris Operas, as well as traditional music from the Inner Mongolia region of northern China, where Mengniu is headquartered.

As part of the China Night celebrations, Mengniu also presented a series of awards to recognise the remarkable stories of several athletes and everyday people who embody its brand philosophy of “striving for greatness”.

Among those to be honoured were influencer and dancer Liao Zhi, who has inspired audiences across China since losing both of her legs in the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008.

In the future, Mengniu will continue to contribute to the Olympic Movement and celebrate the resilience and excellence of everyone from around the world.

The Mengniu Group CEO also announced that, from the Olympic Games Paris 2024 onwards, Mengniu will host the “China Night” event in the host cities of future Games to honour the “excellence in everyone”.

Engaging fans during Paris 2024

In addition to hosting the China Night event, Mengniu has launched a series of initiatives to engage fans during the Olympic Games Paris 2024, including a brand campaign featuring ambassadors Eileen Gu and Jia Ling and a promotional film by award-winning director Zhang Yimou’s team.

For fans attending the Games, Mengniu is also hosting two brand showcases that highlight the company’s sustainability efforts. The “Milky Way” activation along the River Seine features a running track made of recycled materials, while the “Desert Oasis” showcase offers fans a shaded relaxation space at the Eiffel Tower Stadium, highlighting Mengniu’s efforts to plant trees in the Ulan Buh Desert in the Inner Mongolia region.

Founded in 1999, Mengniu is China’s leading dairy manufacturer and became a Worldwide Olympic Partner in 2019 as part of a unique Joint TOP Partnership Agreement with Coca-Cola.
