On its first day of operations, SILAL achieved a remarkable milestone by delivering a record-high volume of produce to the Omani market. At Rakiza, sustainability is at the core of our investment philosophy. Throughout the planning, construction, and operational phases of SILAL, we have prioritized best practices and sustainability to ensure positive outcomes for all stakeholders. Rakiza is pleased to announce the financial close of its first transaction in Saudi Arabia, by acquiring a 40% stake in Tihama Power Generation Company (“Tihama Power”). Tihama Power consists of four Combined Heat and Power plants (“CHP”) located at Ras Tanura, Ju’aymah, Shedgum and Uthmaniyah, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Tihama’s four plants produce 1,600 MW of electrical power and 6.3 Million Pounds per Hour of process steam and have been in operation since 2006. Output is contracted through a long-term offtake agreement. Rakiza will partner with Engie on this project: a world-class infrastructure manager and a 60% shareholder in Tihama Power. By implementing CHP technology, Tihama Power prioritises energy efficiency by capturing and using heat that would otherwise be wasted, and by avoiding distribution losses. Rakiza is delighted to have received the MENA Digital Infrastructure Acquisition of the Year award at the IJ Investor Awards 2023 in London. This award recognizes Rakiza's acquisition of Omantel's passive telecom tower portfolio in partnership with Helios Towers, creating the largest independent tower operator in Oman. Helios Towers Oman is now working alongside Omantel and other Mobile Network Operators to enhance and expand telecommunication infrastructure throughout the country. Rakiza is pleased to announce the financial closing of its acquisition of 39% equity in Oman Broadband Company SAOC (“Oman Broadband”) from ITHCA Group. Oman Broadband is the largest fibre broadband infrastructure provider in Oman. Oman Broadband owns, operates and maintains passive broadband infrastructure, providing wholesale services to major internet service providers in Oman. With this transaction Rakiza has completed its 4th investment in Oman in a variety of key infrastructure businesses and sectors.
