OP Core metadata element set
Based on the Dublin Core metadata element set, the Publications Office of the EU has defined its own OP Core metadata element set. It consists of 16 elements that any resource managed and published by the Publications Office –through the EU Vocabularies portal– can and should contain. Extensions for specific domains –such as the legal or the general publications domains that go beyond the basic 16 OP Core metadata elements– are being defined and will be published on the EU Vocabularies website as soon as they are ready.
In its meeting of the 30th of June 2011 the Management Committee of the Publications Office of the EU adopted the list of OP Core metadata elements:

An updated version of the OP Core metadata element set schema was published in December 2023. This release is a more detailed and improved presentation of the original schema adopted in 2011.
