In all our terminals around the world, we take our responsibilities seriously, continuously lifting the standards of responsibility, including standards of living. This is true not only for people, but for the animals rural communities rely on. Animal health services is a part of APM Terminals Pipavav, India's ‘Pashu Uday’ project to support sustainable livestock development in around 45 local villages surrounding the port. Since 2016, the project has addressed the need for medical care and humane treatment for sheep, goats, horses, cows and buffalo, which in turn benefits the earning capabilities of local families. Thanks to the provision of a mobile veterinarian clinic, health camps, and education, the terminal – up to January of this year – had treated more than 37,864 livestock and vaccinated and dewormed more than one million farm animals. Says Sanjay Singh, HSSE Head at APM Terminals Pipavav, “To ensure sustainability, we will gradually handover to community members through a Charitable Trust that provides local youth with training to make careers from caring for animals, creating entrepreneurial opportunities and rewarding and valuable work.”

A newly located express lane for reefer trucks at APM Terminals Moin, which minimizes time spent in truck processing from 40 minutes to just 4 was inspired by formula one racing. Because, as all truck drivers know, hanging around is the worst. That’s why it’s our goal to maximise efficiency. Lifting the standards with inspiration from the race track, the crew at Costa Rica are now processing up to 120 reefer truck transactions with a nine-fold increase in efficiency thanks to 'pit crew heroes' like Ricardo Alexis Alvarado Ruiz (actual job title: supervisor at APM Terminals Moin). Reduced port hours – that’s the result of lifting the standards of efficiency, as highlighted by three key terminals in our portfolio: Algeciras, Spain; Tangier Container Terminal; and Tangier M2, Morocco.   Together, the hub terminals of APM Terminals will play a key role in the A.P. Moller - Maersk network of the future, linking cargo across the globe with ease. “In recent years, our hub has experienced impressive growth, doubling its capacity from 6 million TEU in 2019 to an expected 12 million TEU by the end of this year. This expansion, along with our ongoing investments in automation, digitization, and operational efficiency, has resulted in a 20% reduction in port hours, ensuring faster and more efficient service for our customers,” shares Keld Pedersen, Head of West Mediterranean Terminals. #efficiency #portterminals APM Terminals MedPort Tangier - TM2 APM Terminals Tangier

July saw a phenomenal increase in the uptake of APM Terminals’ range of application programming interfaces (APIs), a sign that customer needs are evolving and that demand for our digital solutions is stepping up. Our APIs – which enable digital applications to ‘talk to each other’ – open up a wealth of real time information for logisticians who feed back that direct access to terminal data is giving them a competitive edge. Our APIs track vessel arrival and departure times, appointment and loading times, container status and more. Using the applications provides crucial information to customers in a timely and convenient way. It’s just one of the means by which we are lifting the standard of digital connectivity in our terminals. Check out the availability and growing range here: https://bit.ly/4dH4owZ

The naming of A. P. Moller-Maersk's 3rd big dual-fuel methanol vessel was celebrated at APM Terminals' facilities in Aarhus today, together with global leader of sustainable energy systems, Vestas. CEO of APM Terminals Nordics Mikael Gutman: "We have enjoyed a long and good partnership with the port here for many decades. It is among the very best-run ports in our network, and it is also an essential supply point to the North Atlantic and thus plays a significant role in the Kingdom of Denmark. The presence of our customers and partners honoured both our joint celebration with Maersk, but also underscores the unity of the vision that unites us. A vision that is no longer a distant hope but a tangible journey toward decarbonizing ocean transport – one step at a time." #Antoniamærsk #ceremony #Vestas #Maersk Aarhus Havn - Port of Aarhus A.P.
