Showcasing Opportunities at PNGUoT Career Fair New Porgera Limited (NPL) was excited to connect with students at the PNG University of Technology (PNGUoT) Career Fair recently at its Taraka Campus in Lae, Morobe Province. The event allowed NPL to engage with many enthusiastic students interested in mining careers, reinforcing Porgera’s commitment to operational excellence and career development. A highlight of our engagement was the presentation of 10kg ore samples to Darrel Yockopua, a final-year mineral processing engineering student, for his research on the Porgera Mine.  Darrel is also one of NPL’s sponsored students at PNGUoT. This support, from various NPL departments, reflects our commitment to developing the next generation of mining professionals. NPL is also a proud sponsor of 14 students at PNGUoT and five students at the The University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) . These 19 students in total are currently studying various disciplines in mine engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical communication engineering, mineral processing, surveying, applied chemistry and geology. NPL team was pleased to engage with its sponsored students and others through Q&A sessions and a debate around investing in human resources through graduate programs hosted by Enga students prior to the career fair. Thank you to PNG University of Technology for the opportunity to engage with your students and other stakeholders and those who visited our booth for a successful event.
