SP Brewery continues to encourage Responsible Drinking through awareness and sustainable partnerships. One such partnership was forged in 2019 with the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) whereby APTC’s Hospitality III students are trained to serve Alcohol Responsibly. In our continued commitment to boosting PNG’s hospitality industry, today hosted an “Information Session”, in partnership with APTC to feature APTC’s new Job Portal. “We wanted to connect our customers with insights into APTC’s Jobs Portal and demonstrate how it can be leveraged to their advantage. Our customers operate within the hospitality industry and often experience high staff turnover. We believe this portal will not only aid in resolving their recruitment challenges but also help them recruit qualified and well-trained hospitality staff for their businesses,” says SP Brewery’s Sales Director Roderick Van Den Brink. “As a business, SP Brewery not only cares about creating a responsible, safe, and comfortable atmosphere for our consumers. We believe in investing in the future of Papua New Guinea’s hospitality industry. Hence, we partnered with a reputable institution such as APTC to train their students and help them find employment opportunities.” “This is value-adding to our already existing partnership with APTC as we are bridging the gap between education and employment, particularly in the hospitality industry,” says Brink. This engaging event brought together SP Brewery’s customers mainly restaurants and bars where SP Brewery products are served at.

South Pacific Brewery through our corporate social responsibility continues to speak out against social issues through various campaigns and partnerships. As a responsible corporate citizen, SP Brewery is genuinely concerned with the impact of violence on Papua New Guinean society over the years. We consider ourselves in a unique position to speak out against violence. We will do this by taking a bold move to speak out against violence through SP Lager, our iconic and highly respected Papua New Guinean brand. Today, we partnered with the Department for Community Development & Religion (DFCDR), through its National Gender-Based Violence Secretariat (NGVBS), by signing a MoU. “By partnering with the Secretariat, we wish to align with the government’s National GBV Strategy and leverage support from these mandated government agencies to build a credible and effective campaign that will inspire behavioral change in PNG,” says Managing Director Ed Weggemans. The campaign and partnership demonstrate SP Brewery's commitment to our company values which are: • Passion for Customers and Consumers • Courage to dream and pioneer • Enjoyment of life and • Care for people and planet. Moving forward, we envision a robust partnership with the Secretariat and Department, not only to support SP Brewery’s delivery of a campaign that inspires behavioural change but also to inspire other corporates and organizations to forge such partnerships and take an explicit stand against violence as well.
