We had the privilege of commemorating International Day of the Girl by hosting a special event at our American Center with young female students from the University of Papua New Guinea and our Embassy Staff. Together, we screened the thought-provoking film “I am A Girl’ and followed it with a powerful discussion on the challenges and triumphs faced by girls and young women in Papua New Guinea and around the world. It was an inspiring moment of reflection and a reminder of the importance of supporting girls and young women to achieve their dreams. #DayOfTheGirl #Empowerment #iamagirl #americancenter #americanspaces

On this significant day, we reflect on the wisdom of Mahatma Gandhi: "Nonviolence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind. It is mightier than the mightiest weapon of destruction devised by the ingenuity of man." At the U.S. Embassy in Port Moresby, we stand in support of nonviolent action as a means to address and resolve issues in Papua New Guinea. We believe peaceful dialogue and cooperation are key to building a brighter future. Join us in commemorating this day by promoting the values of nonviolence in our communities. Together, we can make a difference. #InternationalDayOfNonviolence #Peace #Nonviolence #Gandhi #USinPNG #PapuaNewGuinea
