📸 Yesterday, APMDD, Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities & People of Asia for Climate Solutions held a Forum on the Principles for a Rapid, Equitable, & #JustTransition to #RenewableEnergy Systems as a part of the 3rd Impact Climate Innovation Conference, underscoring justice & human rights at the core of the transition. Held in Hainan, China, the Conference was attended by decision-makers, experts, industry leaders, civil society groups and other stakeholders for collaboration towards building a sustainable future. 

🗣️ASEAN OUT OF COAL, #100PercentRE IS THE GOALl!🗣️ As the #ASEANSummit 2024 concludes, we strongly demand ASEAN governments to substantialy increase their #RenewableEnergy targets within their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and energy plans, while concurrently phasing out coal and other fossil fuels. #EndCoalNow

🤔DID YOU KNOW: The impacts of climate change will cost $447-894 BILLION a year by 2030? The Global South cannot–and should not–pay the rising costs of loss and damage. 🌊🔥Global North governments must #PayUp climate reparations now‼️

Vulnerable countries are racing to build resilience against the impacts of climate change, with scarcely any money to do so. 😓 Global North governments should #PayUp and fund climate adaptation before it’s too late! 💰

🤔 DID YOU KNOW: Only 12% of the global population is responsible for 50% of carbon emissions in the atmosphere? Polluters must #PayUp, starting with the Global North governments most responsible for the climate crisis‼️

The Global South can never be fully compensated for the death and destruction triggered by the climate crisis–but climate finance is a start. 💰Rich countries must #PayUp climate finance through the UN climate funds ‼️

Can you believe the EU 🇪🇺 has the audacity to claim climate leadership while spending more on their military than on #LossAndDamage payments? It’s time for the EU to face the facts and #PayUp for their contributions to the climate crisis! #FillTheFund
