BagoSphere capped off Batch 1 of the Grounded Leaders Program (GLP) with Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF). The program, led by Product Manager, Kristin Rose Gustilo, and Curriculum Developer, Janette Villacarlos, equipped twenty (20) NWTF leaders with skills to enhance problem-solving, decision-making, and coaching, driving performance and team well-being. The five-day training, which ended on August 13, 2024, included a one-month self-work break, during which participants applied their learnings to real workplace scenarios. Congratulations to the pioneer batch of GLP participants! We look forward to witnessing the impact of your enhanced leadership skills. #BagoSphere #NWTF #TheFutureofWorkisHuman #GroundedLeadersProgram #BuildingSustainableCommunities

BagoSphere’s co-founder and Head of Business Development, Ellwyn Tan, hosted an informal dinner for the university presidents of Ateneo de Manila, Silliman University, University of the Immaculate Conception, Trinity University of Asia, and University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, who were in Singapore last month for a training program. Working with leaders of universities and colleges across the country, BagoSphere has a long-standing partnership with Ateneo through the Ateneo Center for Educational Development in BagoSphere’s training program, equipping disadvantaged jobseekers with the mindsets and capabilities for employment. BagoSphere’s Grounded Leaders Program has also helped public school leaders develop their problem-solving, decision-making, and coaching skills. Additionally, we conducted training for University of St. La Salle (USLS) leaders and managers on Positive Culture with a focus on Growth Mindset, Teamwork, and Communication in 2020. BagoSphere is thrilled to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Microfinance Council of the Philippines, Inc. (MCPI) at its annual conference held at Manila Hotel on August 15-16, 2024! We are honored that our co-founder, Ellwyn Tan, was invited as a speaker to discuss how we support inclusive growth for MFIs by helping their frontline workers and leaders develop the capabilities and mindsets needed to thrive in their careers. As MCPI marks 25 years of advancing responsible and inclusive finance, we are grateful to participate in meaningful discussions on financial inclusion, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development alongside partners like Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation (NWTF), Kasagana-Ka Cooperative (K-COOP), ASA Philippines Foundation, and other esteemed MFIs. Gilbert Maramba, MCPI Chairperson and NWTF Director of Operations, powerfully reminded us that the core mission of microfinance is to improve lives through sustainable means. His words resonate deeply with BagoSphere’s vision and mission to uplift communities. We remain committed to this journey—working together to improve lives and move towards a future where poverty is no longer a barrier to opportunity.
