#BPIInTheNews: In celebration of #CyberSecurity Awareness Month, BPI has partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in holding a series of events aimed at raising awareness and providing vital cybersecurity knowledge to the bank’s employees. Kicking off the series is a discussion on the National Cybersecurity Plan (NCSP) for 2023-2028, presented by DICT’s Cybersecurity Bureau. The event provided Unibankers with an overview of the current digital landscape of the Philippines, as well as the rise of challenges that come with technological advancements. Engr. Maria Sinag "Shine" Abella of DICT drilled down on the increased government commitment to cybersecurity, as reflected in NCSP’s vision and action steps to build a trusted, secure, and reliable cyberspace for every Filipino. BPI stands with DICT in recognizing the importance of cybersecurity as a shared responsibility between the government, industry, and the public. With this, the bank ensures that its cybersecurity strategies are aligned with the NCSP, which aims to create a safer and more secure digital environment for the Philippines. #2024CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #CyberTiwala #CyberHanda #CyberTatag #DICT #DICTCybersecurity

#BPIInTheNews: As we continue to champion greater financial inclusion in the country, we conducted another #financialwellness session, this time for the employees of the local government of General Santos City. This is part of our ongoing efforts of partnering with the different local government units to equip Filipinos with the knowledge and tools in saving, budgeting, and making informed investment decisions, as well as practicing cybersecurity through safe online banking habits. “By partnering with LGUs and other key institutions, we aim to empower more Filipinos, especially those who serve as frontliners in their communities, to take charge of their financial future,” said Elena Torrijos, head of BPI Public Affairs and Communications.

#BPIInTheNews: In celebration of Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM), we held a #cybersecurity learning workshop for Sparkle GMA Network, Inc. artists as part of our partnership with the network for our cybersecurity campaign with the tagline, ‘Maging listo. Huwag magpaloko.’ Aimed at educating young influencers about cybersecurity and leveraging their reach to amplify BPI’s reminders on protecting oneself from scams, the session was attended by 30 GMA Sparkle talents, including hosts, beauty queens, influencers, actors, and emerging music talents. During the workshop, the Kapuso artists learned about the basics of social engineering schemes, BPI’s efforts in combating these cybercrimes, and practical reminders so they don’t fall victim to these scams. The artists were also able to apply what they had learned through a creative skit at the end of the session. “Let’s work together to raise awareness and protect our communities from the ever-present threats of cybercrime. Always remember: cybersecurity is a shared responsibility,” said BPI Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Cathy Santamaria. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gXcU9Uk7
