On 06 August, we had the pleasure of joining the 29th General Membership Meeting of the Israel Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines where we welcomed the newly elected Board of Directors, and its growing members. Congratulations to Yoray Ofek for being elected as the President of ICCP! This is but a testament to your great efforts in advancing Israel-Philippines economic relations in your previous term. We are delighted to welcome Ofek Venecianer as the new Economic Counselor and Head of the Israel Economic Mission to the Philippines. Prior to her arrival in the Philippines, Ofek served as Head of Branch in the Asia-Pacific Department of the Foreign Trade Administration of Israel within the Ministry of Economy and Industry, from 2022 to 2024. She was responsible for Southeast Asian countries, including the Philippines. Ofek's experience and expertise will undoubtedly contribute to advancing Israel and Philippines bilateral relations. 🇮🇱🤝🇵🇭

It was an honor for us to present about Israel’s advancements in AI Technology for Fleet Managers at the Fleet Management Academy of the Philippine Commercial Vehicle Show (PCVS) 2024. During the presentation, we highlighted how AI and cloud data computing allows fleet managers to ensure that vehicles run on time, maintains fuel efficiency, monitors driver behavior and facilitates maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Through Israel tech, we are able to address these areas and make transportation smart and effective through fleet optimization, vehicle tracking, scheduling management, proactive fleet safety, fuel management and electric charging optimization, and detection technology for driver assistance systems. Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting the The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) where we met with Atty. Roel Refran, COO, and Mr. Mark Visda, AVP & Head of Capital Market Development Division. The visit facilitated knowledge sharing between the stock exchange and the Israeli innovation ecosystem, likewise discussions on future collaborations between Israel and the Philippines. Special thank you to Consul Betty Ang, Hon. Consulate of Ghana & Secretary at BA Securities, and Dr. Beatrice Ang, Hon. Consulate of Ukraine & Director at BA Securities, for facilitating the introduction to PSE.

Last week, we visited the home of the Philippine Dermatological Society in Quezon City where we were welcomed by Dr. Cynthia Ciriaco-Tan, Dr. Antonio Sison, Dr. Camille Berenguer, Dr. Claudine Rae Javier and other members of the board. During the visit, we toured their newly-installed Skin Museum which featured key milestones of PDS since its establishment in 1952, along with tools, books, and medical equipment used by dermatologists through the years. Recognized by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) and the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) as a specialty society for skin, hair and nails, PDS is a recognized leader in Dermatology with 15 accredited-institutions for Dermatology Residency Training Program, including major hospitals in the country. Through Israel’s advancements in derma technology and skincare innovations, we look forward to working with PDS in advancing dermatology and promoting the highest standard of skin health care in the country. Earlier this week, we kicked off the Cross-Border Tech Exchange: Exploring Tech Startup Investment Opportunities in Israel, with Kickstart Ventures. This event is a series of pitching sessions covering emerging Israeli technologies. The initial session focused on retail tech, featuring six innovative companies presenting cutting-edge solutions such as #AR/VR, indoor navigation, augmented reality, and more.
