Did you know that financial education classes are a required part of every journey to Habitat for Humanity homeownershipin the U.S.? Many local Habitat affiliates provide additional opportunities to members of their community to increase their knowledge in areas such as budgeting, credit and other topics related to personal finance. Check out just a few of many examples. ➡️ In Delaware, Sussex County Habitat for Humanity offers one-on-one support from a financial coach, where participants identify personal financial challenges, establish goals to overcome them, and create an action plan for goal achievement. My Future." is Atlanta Habitat for Humanity's comprehensive financial literacy program designed to help prepare participants for homeownership through classes and one-on-one coaching. These workshops and webinars are open to the public and offer a variety of financial education topics for people ages 15 and up. As a partner, Realtor.com employees recently volunteered on Habitat for Humanity build sites in Texas and Arizona. Rebecca Faries, Customer Care Lead, Email/Chat Support in Realtor.com’s Scottsdale office commented about the experience: “It was truly special to step out of our usual roles and work side by side on something so impactful. Without equitable access to affordable credit and investment capital, people living in low-income communities often face barriers to quality housing, education, health care, jobs and other essential services. Habitat for Humanity Macedonia recently launched the construction on their 7th multi-family building in a development in Veles City, Macedonia. This development will house 16 families and will test the concept of prosumers in multi-unit buildings, which allows the homeowners to produce and sell clean energy from the photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of their building.
