Tungkol sa amin
Health Care Without Harm is an international coalition of more than 500 organizations in 53 countries working to transform the healthcare sector worldwide, without compromising patient safety or care, so that it is ecologically sustainable and no longer a source of harm to public health and the environment. HCWH has offices in the United States (Virginia and San Francisco), Europe (Germany), South America (Argentina), and Asia (Philippines). HCWH also has close programmatic partnerships with organizations working on these issues in the African Region (South Africa) and in the Asian Region (India and Nepal). HCWH has been working since the mid-1990’s to promote among others proper health care waste management and substitute the use of mercury-containing medical waste from the healthcare sector. Reliable and affordable alternatives for us of health care facilities. HCWH has more than twenty years of experience in collaborative work on these issues with hospitals, healthcare workers, other NGOs, medical device suppliers, and government ministries and agencies. HCWH Southeast Asia took root in 2003, committing to improving healthcare systems in the region. The group’s first project in the area was the Philippine Measles Eradication Campaign (PMEC) in 2004, which demonstrated the possibility of conducting a major immunization campaign without incinerating the resulting waste. The project set a global benchmark that was cited in international conferences. HCWH SE Asia is focused on three major campaigns: Safer Chemicals, Medical Waste, and the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals.
